Shoshana is a Soprano. It’s why she says “now you know what it feels like”. Unfortunately, her career was built on singing Mezzo music.

To think that Megan actually auditioned twice for Elphaba before being called back for Glinda.... She can belt, but she is no Elphaba. It's sad she backed off of the F in DG. She can totally belt that! And why was NGD so short? She can sing it.

I've never heard her mention ever auditioning for Elphaba. She has the chops for it, but she was sick for this entire show after doing Wicked nonstop for years.

@@torirose8492 no she has said many times that she auditioned for Elphaba because in college she was always cast in the mezzo belting roles. So she thought that that was the role she would get if she auditioned. I don't know if she went back for Glinda or if they called her back for that role, but she definitely auditioned for Elphaba first

@@elphbwckd212 She's said many times that other people told her she should be Elphaba, but she's always said that she auditioned for the Kristin replacement auditions. Never for Elphaba though. That's why she was surprised to be called for a Glinda audition in the first place

Just a question, but do you guys think that she never got the Elphaba role cause of her hair color? I mean, maybe the producers only saw her as Glinda cause of her hair color. Maybe if she would have done something like paint her face green at the audition like Idina, or put a black wig on, something ...she might have got the part?

Strongly disagree. She was actually sick during this whole show, understandably her voice was strained after doing Wicked for literal years.

Because the cast managers made her play Elphaba 😭

Because when she auditioned for Glinda, the casting directors thought she looked too much like Idina at the time. (Stage managers have nothing to do with casting choices)
