The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a 2017 action-adventure game developed and published by Nintendo for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U consoles. The game is a part of The Legend of Zelda series and is set at the end of its timeline. The player controls an amnesiac Link, who awakens from a hundred-year slumber and is tasked with saving Princess Zelda and preventing Calamity Ganon from destroying the world. Similar to the original 1986 Legend of Zelda, players are given minimal instruction and can explore the open world freely. Released on March 3, 2017, Breath of the Wild was a launch game for the Nintendo Switch and the final Nintendo-published game for the Wii U. Two waves of downloadable content were released in 2017 via an expansion pass. Breath of the Wild received universal acclaim. It won several Game of the Year awards and has since been cited as one of the greatest video games of all time. Breath of the Wild is also the top selling game in the series and one of the best-selling video games of all time, selling more than 30 million copies by 2022. A spin-off, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, was released in 2020; a sequel, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, is scheduled for 2023.

What you said about the game having multiple solutions to a problem is what makes this game so good. There is a line from a review video about the game, "In this game, there are no stupid ideas just ideas that can go horribly wrong"

this isn't a spoiler but the names of the shrines are parts of the BOTW developer's names rearranged, which is why they sound a bit strange. the first shrine is producer Eiji Aonuma's surname rearranged, Oman Au.

This is probably an unpopular opinion, but for me, I personally don't enjoy puzzles as much when there are multiple solutions. Because if there is a puzzle with one solution that I manage to figure out, I feel like I accomplished something but if there is a puzzle with multiple solutions, I feel paranoid that I didn't solve it the proper way or that I cheesed it; I don't walk away from them with a sense of accomplishment. Though there are a few exceptions depending on how well the puzzle is crafted. For instance, there is a popular cheese strat to a particular shrine that I won't go into detail on (other than that Ryan already completed it) that I managed to figure out on my own and felt pretty proud of myself about.

I know nothing about Twitch, so I got a q... what does !tama mean? (I could google it I suppose, but algorithm 😄) Also... another thing people forget is that 99.99% didn't play this game in front of an internet audience, and the newb mistakes are undocumented and swept under the rug. I commend both of you for playing a game this big publically for our entertainment (even if I poke some friendly fun from time to time 😉) Also also... yay! Yes, watch those botw trailers. They're legendary. So glad you're -joining the cult- becoming a Zelda fan with us.

Typically, when a message in Twitch starts with an '!', it means the person is running a command in which a chatbot will respond to with a message. Most streamers who put chat on stream usually will usually omit chatbot messages (which is the case here), so you didn't get to see that command response. The chatbot responded with "Lord grant me the serenity to not backseat, and the courage to also not backseat" after someone typed "!tama" in Ryan's stream.

Re: the thing in the lake. [Spoilers for Meg] I did it a 3rd way. Only on my most recent playthrough did I realize you could use cryonis directly. I knew arrows worked, but were expensive. I actually thought you had to use cryonis on the water surface to create shields using pillars to collide with the projectiles. 😅
