Metal detecting for coins and relics in the river with Billy and Thoren is the video of today. We find a lot of Indian Head pennies, old tokens and even a very old colonial era tobacco pipe!

I hope you are not overlooking old bottles. I've found patent medicines, a coca cola bottle that looked like a regular round bottle, and a Heinz bottle when they only had one item. I was lucky enough to find an old clay bottle that wasn't even chipped. This is one hobby that has more than gold fever.

😃 Nice coin haul, and I like the lucky clipper token; I think that's cool. I've always liked trade dollars - better than "just" coins... Could be a neat story behind them. 😏 Thank you for posting this vid, and I hope we all can stay safe and stay healthy! 💕

Wow!!! What some awesome finds today chigg, on the river banks. That should let everyone know that there are plenty of things to be found no matter where your defecting at. There's always something to be discovered. You guys found lots of coins an relics from the days gone bye. What could you find out in the water at low tide ?? You just never know what's waiting to be unearthed. Again no matter where your hunting there is something to find. Of course if your on an old colonial site the finds could really awesome sometimes. You can still find things no matter where your looking. As long as you have a good metal detector such as the At max. I know it's one of the best machines out there, I to have found so many things that people have passed by from several years hunting before I hunted the grounds. I purchased the at max after seeing how easy it is to use, an what to listen for, as far as good targets to dig. Thanks to you chigg, teaching the proper use of it. An how easy it is to set it up for the area your hunting. It's been the best purchase for me since I've been metal detecting. I've been detecting for about 2 years now an I have found so many relics an coins since I purchased the At max. I just love to get out an hunt anywhere I can. An I always find something good. Along with alot of not so good things as well but that's just part of detecting. Great video chigg. You guys rocked today on your river bank adventure. As always safe an happy hunting. 😁👍👍

The cut coin looks like a drawer stop from an old dresser or chest of drawers. It wasn't uncommon as the time and cost to go get an actual drawer stops was more than the penny you could cut and use in its place.

You guys need to do yourselves a big favor and buy a 10X jewelers loop. You can add a chain, string, paracord or leather and hang it like a neckless. It's always handy so when you find something you can look up close and read your dates or see small designs! Or get a larger magnifying glass that you can also do close-ups on your videos! I always enjoy your vids! BTW - that brass piece you mentioned your wife might use in an art piece - I think it's the top piece of a lamp to hold the shade on!??!?

I think those rings that you're finding are for plugging the hole in the back of dinghies small row boats you know how they have that rubber plug with the ring on it and a chain so that when the boats moving you can open it and the water will rush out of that little hole and then you plug it up once the waters out supposed to keep the water out and easy to get the water out I think that's what those are

Chig that chassis plate you picked up looked like it was originally part of a chiming pocket watch or traveler's clock. The general profile of the chunk cut out of the token or coin looks like the missing metal could have been used to fashion a replacement 'buckhorn' style rear sight for a musket or rifle.

The gear with the double sided ratchet in the hub you found looked like it could have been part of an early wheel lock mechanism for a primitive musket. Gold rings, ale tokens and loot all over? Could it be an outlaw camp Chig? Or maybe somewhere an Indian raiding party sorted their plunder? Maybe unlikely but not really crazy.
