Cheers Beau for 50 mins of good fun entertainment, great to be on the walk arounds especially now I'm in post op recovery from a spinal implant after being correctly diagnosed with neurological damage 14 years after the explosion. It's a Boston spinal cord Stimulator for those wondering. Hopefully I'll be able to walk a bit more than 5 or 10 yards again in the near future. I've bought a bike and a camper in preparation for beginning to live again. I know it's long and you'll probably not catch this, but I'm putting it out there. I first sub'd way back on my other account when I thought you had a huge following of around 75000...it was around the time my injury and huge dosage of Fentanyl I was put on put me to bed in a living hell....one escape from the pain and opiate induced PTSD from military times was KZfaq...I've always had a great interest in WW1 here in Europe and wanted to find someone investigating the American Civil War as it was the cross over from old tactics to the new, the use of trenches as fighting stations instead of areas of safety to the rear etc...my first hit was someone who mentioned Beau and I checked him out... Hes taken me out in rivers, down caves, searched for Samsquaches and Ricky...I have hold your breath imprinted in my mind... Beau, has been with me all those years and I love you man. Thank you. Yeah, it's been a hellish journey. I was injured after a fairly long 15year career in the British Armed Forces and eventually disabled out after 17.5 years. It was an explosion in Iraq, it was complicated, the incident paperwork disappeared along with my medical docs and I kept quiet about the circumstances surrounding just how I was injured. As I was ordered to do. I was misdiagnosed, badly treated and put on lethal amounts of opiates, Fentanyl by transdermal constant feed patches, at one point 175mgs/h as well as Tramadol and codeine (all opioids) and other meds which caused Seratonin poisoning leading to 8 lost years spent in a medicated coma state in bed. Blah blah... Around a year ago I told my specialist about the explosion and described what happened to my body...he lit up and promised to help. My sound had been hyper extended and damaged the nerve running 80% of my left leg and 20% on the right. He said nothing about it, but promised hed do his best and how he could do something for my leg pain but not the mechanical back... I needed to lower my opiate intake...I came off the stuff in rapid time, my body totally rejected it and I hit full cold Turkey for about 3 months...still Beau was there, he'd post about midnight 2AM when I was at my worst... Because I was off the opiates so quickly, and my positive attitude etc my Surgeon was good to his word, I got a phone call offering me my operation in 10 days....not 12-18 months I was expecting. When I met him on the day and I said thank you as we shook hands, he smiled and said, i promised I'd do it....when the space came up i refused any other options... I lay pre op and chilled with a few vids including Beau back in water shell hunting mode and music... Long assed way of saying, your a good man Beau, long live Chiggs Army. Charlie UK 🇬🇧

Tube with a shotgun shell is probably a scare trap for deer. They take the load out of a shell, cram it in an old pipe, rig up a mouse trap with a tack to hit the primer. used to be pretty common around corn fields. I've found a few here in Georgia.

This is the first time that I have ever left a comment. I love watching your show you've taught me a lot about detecting. I'm very new at this. Anyway I just wanted to commend you on the fact that you always add history a lesson in your shows explaining things that was going on during different periods of time even for this episode that I'm watching now talking about Eli Whitley and the cotton gin and how that impacted slavery. You're a very knowledgeable individual keep up the good work

That pipe was almost certainly a zip gun! We used to build those all the time haha. I remember as a kid we did some really sketchy stuff - if the shell got stuck in the "breech" you could just flip the pipe around and blast it out the other end with another shell - probably not the best idea in hindsight!

Hey Rick, before your wife burns your beat up jeans, order you a pair of the Fire Hose work pants from Duluth Trading. No joke, they are the best, most durable pants. I also like the Duluth Flex Dry On The Fly pants; just ordered 2 pairs of shorts. The crotch gusset sold it for me. Great company too! And no, I don't work for them and am not a paid rep. Just trying to pass along good intel on a quality company from a fellow GA boy.

@41:30 perfect scenario for the XP Deus in "fast" mode. The higher tone target you hear are probably good targets, but the XP Deus's recovery speed would have exposed all the squeekers that the AT Pro is missing in this part of the video.

21:57 Hazarding a guess: lead lined coffin? Hollow... Really got me intrigued! On a separate note, Univ. Of Alabama Natural History Department found 1 Spanish gold coin near Tuscaloosa in an Archaeolgical dig that shifted the prior notion of DeSoto's route.Crotal bells, boar tusks, chain mail pieces, etc. Some of this had been gathered up in the wattle and daub of later Native American villagers.

I burst out laughing when Beau heard the word “gold”. His eyes just popped and he perked up quite a bit....the history lesson was interesting. The whole slavery epoch was tragic. Heartbreaking and mind numbingly sad. Beyond me, I’m afraid . Never understood it. The frogs, understand that. Love frogs. That was a delight. A sunset chorus of frogs, I didn’t k ow they did that, Thankyou. 😊🐸🐸🐸🌸

At 36.... you showed up a knife sharpener stone tip. I only can tell this from an excarvation of bronce time. After a cremation of a reaper man they used to brake his stone for sharpening his sickle into two parts and put it in the ground where his ash was buried, meaning his life has ended.

Beau, That is the most serene and picturesque area down by the creek. Please go back down there and take some photographs. You really cracked me up when you got a scare from that root. All the years I've been watching your vids I've never seen anything shake you up that much. Diving in dark, murky water that you can't see through, snakes, copper-headed rattle moccasins, leaches, scorpions, spiders, rabid raccoons, mountain lions, bears, bigfoot and his whole clan, not even the meanest fairies and elves out there have shaken you up as much as that (voodoo root), (Bless your Heart). At least it wasn't a high pitched girly scream, (unless you edited it out. Lol) The white button you thought was porcelain, I'm thinkin' was white seashell, as it was a very common medium for making buttons, especially from the turn of the century through the nineteen sixties. I wasn't aware of bone putting off a smell when you rub it, but that is a technique used to determine if something is made of bake-o-lite. I agree with your thoughts on the piece used as a tool by the Native American Indians. As I've mentioned before, my sister was the head of the Indian Association in Nor Cal for a few years and she said "If it looked like they could comfortably used something as a tool, they most likely did." Loved Rick's large arrowhead. What was it made of? I too Love the sound of the frogs singing around the pond in the evenings. When we were youngsters and the frogs were in full blown croaking mode, one of us would yell out "Hey or Listen!" and the frogs would go completely silent for a few seconds, then as suddenly as they stopped , they begin again. : ) Looking forward to the next vid, when you dig up the treasure in that deep hole, on the property. Thanks, Beau and you too, Rick.
