It's been a long time coming, but I've finally gotten around to doing a full 100% trophy run of Mega Man 11.
This is done in one playthrough with a lot of restrictions due to trophy requirements, which involve:
- Superhero difficulty
- Can't buy items
- No Game Overs (you can die twice at most)
- Complete all stage objectives
- Beat the game in under an hour
- Defeat all mid-bosses buster only
'Defeat the main 8 bosses buster only' can be done in the boss refight stage, but is too risky to do under all these constraints, so it's done once the 'no buying items' trophy is secured. Unless you've practiced these bosses a lot, it's unlikely you'll be able to do all the bosses buster only in one life without items on Superhero, so having E-Tanks and the Super Guard (halves damage) make this one a lot more reasonable.
Enemy kills under specific conditions (30 guard breaks, 100 speed gear, etc) are farmed on a separate save before starting a full playthrough, so less time is spent grinding out kills later. From testing, getting any of those trophies during a speedrun playthrough isn't going to happen, so doing them on a separate file was the best option.
Once the main game trophies are done, the remaining trophies can be gotten in extra mode. A lot of them are really easy save for Dr Light's trial.
Dr Light's trial is a 30 room gauntlet that has you going through all sorts of obstacles, and every 10th room has you fight a fortress boss, and gives you a 1-up afterwards. Fortunately, it only took one try to clear. Watching replays helps a lot for this one.
