Zero had the Z saber only the way his gameplay works is that he has all X's armor upgrades and a 3 charge attack which goes from A charged blast to two charged blast and Two charged blast to a slash

@@thunderknight4149 Mega Man: Powered Up had Mega Man with the slide and charge shot as an extra, so if they made Zero playable in Hunter X he might have his Z-Saber as an extra.

Lucky Egg What, in the stage design, the weapons, or the story?

The stage design is exactly the same as X's except enemy position is moved around, so that's not really a factor. The weapons were cool, but they didn't really fit well with the Mega Man X formula, and Vile doesn't have several abilities he has in X's mode - such as the ability to hover and the ability to dash. Granted, I can see that as simply wanting to differentiate Vile from X. Along with that, his Ride Armor was mostly pointless. It ran on weapon energy, but it was a lottery draw as to whether or not enemies would drop weapon energy to allow you to continue onward. When I was lucky, I could use the ride armor through almost an entire stage, but one bad hit could cause you to lose it within seconds. His story really just seems like an excuse to play as Vile. His motivation is simply hating X and (for some reason) wanting Sigma to acknowledge his strength. Granted, Mega Man isn't the franchise for the best stories, but this was poor even by that franchise's standards. Honestly, I think the best character in Vile Mode was Sigma simply because he was just sitting back and watching this all play out - amused by VIle's antics because he knew Vile posed no real threat to him. Either way, Vile Mode was clearly something tacked on as a bonus for players who beat X Mode, and wasn't really intended to be anything more.

Lucky Egg Ah. I thought some things changed in Vile's stages, since I've seen some people rag on the enemy placement. I found Vile's weapons to be a nifty concept, it's just that I find the large number of weapons to be largely situational, much like the Reploid parts in the later games. It's great, but I find it cheapened by the few weapons that were grossly powerful (cough Distance Needler and Stubborn Crawler, cough), but other than that, I think they were varied enough to make Vile stand out from X. Vile's Ride Armor clearly felt like they wanted to make his mode stand out too, but the thing was that ride armors were always gimmicks. They were situational in X1, next to pointless in X3 (and I think handled somewhat clumsily in X8?). It was unneeded, really. You're right in that Vile's story just feels like an excuse, but then again, it was always X's story to unfold, and with Vile's character, it's hard to make anything else. If I could make MHX3, Vile's mode would probably unfold the same way, but I digress. It was nothing more than a neat extra, but it was its own more or less unique experience, and in being so, it validated its own existence...

RoKayven Fighting Zero and X as Vile was a pain in the ass... mostly cause I wasn't that used to Vile and played TONS of Megaman games with the average Blue Bomber settings.

@@kanemccarthy1979 in the main story, x would have died if zero didn't Save him during the first fight with vile. And in the second fight, zero blows himself up to damage vile and remove his mech suit. X couldn't have beaten him normally.

At least physically, he also said that X had something else to him. But that's cruising into theory territory and I don't want to go there... Basically, Vile is stronger than X. But X had plot armor while vile only had the mech armor that zero destroyed.
