I swear every medley I've done so far this year has been just about twice as hard as the last one I tried to do. I admit, it is a CRIME that I haven't done any Mega Man X yet. This medley is way overdue but I felt better late than never. The music to this game is classic, even if you've never played the game. There's such a charm to it and guitar always adds to it. No matter how many times these songs have been done as metal covers.
That being said, I tried really hard to keep the arrangement as true to the songs while adding small flair to make it my own without going too over the top. Even with that, I'm pretty sure I've never spent so long on a single project on just learning the guitar parts. I would say that this medley was probably the most difficult to play that I've ever done, just beating out Super Meat Boy since this song has a greater number of songs that are blazing fast where the SMB medley had the hard riffs concentrated to two or three songs. A true challenge but I think it turned out well and I hope you guys like it!
Very big projects this month, but I think with school starting up, I'm going to wind down with a slightly more obscure cover next week. Very close track to my heart and a PC game from the early 2000's. See you next week!

Imagine sitting on the floor in front of a box-like TV with a controller taking turns beating what we thought were impossible levels until we learned how to play them right. You and your brother. Playing the game over and over with your brother and trying to get the fastest run through times. To the extent of memorizing every sound in every song, the weapon sounds and enemy's sounds as well. Now imagine 20 years later hearing someone like you play a cover beautifully and without a single hiccup. I buried that same brother last October and man this did good things for my soul. Nice to see the positive impact and influence games like Mega Man series' had on people and how just a simple song or a few can teleport you to a different, simpler time. Thanks

音楽はよりグローバルで、より普遍的である必要があります。日本のアレンジも見つけるのは本当に難しいです！ Ongaku wa yori gurōbaru de, yori fuhen-tekidearu hitsuyō ga arimasu. Nihon no arenji mo mitsukeru no wa hontōni muzukashīdesu! Music needs to be more globally, more universal. It's really hard to find japanese arrangements as well!

Mega Man X was not just my 1st game 🎮 on Super Nintendo. It was my 1st TV game 🎮 ever I got when I was 13 yrs old back in 1997 or 98. This Guitar play has made my peaceful 13yr old memories playing the game even Much More exciting. Thank You!!

If you released an actual soundtrack with each one of those plus flame mammoth and launch octopus (which I'm disappointed as hell that you didn't include that one), I would gladly pay 15 bucks for it. Megaman X4 is basically the first game I ever played and I grew up throughout my whole childhood playing megaman over and over until I stopped playing them with no reason years ago. Now, years later I decided to play the X series again and remembered how special those games are for me, finally being able to beat them and I'm having so much fun and feeling like a kid again. Love megaman and amazing cover!

When I was young I would start it up and say "why is there a girl helping me?" And my dad would say "that's a guy his name is Zero" Then I would ask why he had long hair and he would say "its complicated".

I continue to come back to this video every few months. I want Michael Bae to make a Megaman X movie, and I want this dude on the soundtrack! Megaman X was my childhood. Growing up as a kid in the 90’s it was the coolest game of the decade! This music is life! I wish I could meet the original composers and shake their hands. Thank you “Family Jewels” for making this and reminding us how blessed and gifted we all are.

Check out Bit Brigade. At their live shows they play the soundtrack to Megaman 2 while a band member plays it in front of everyone. Pretty sweet!
