Why didn't MMX3 use vibrato?
Was there any reason why you couldn't use it?

Interesting. So X2's vibrato made the instruments sound aged. Didn't notice that until this arrangement. Plus, X3 was going for more of a grunge Rock style. I'm curious to hear this one again, but use the vibrato *more* squarely on the original (still might have to take some creative liberties just to make this scant 24-measure track really **pop** like it should and you were going for). It should be a headbanging loop.

You probably know this, but the MMX3 composer was a freelance composer who didn't work with Capcom. I have a feeling she didn't have a good understanding of what the soundfont sounded like, and that the music was written in a hurry. A good example is Blast Hornet's stage, where sometimes, the rhythm guitar is playing almost every note in the scale (composer probably didn't realize that the distortion gutiar patch also added the fifth). It's no surprise that when the music got arranged for the PSX/Saturn version, they didn't just arrange that theme, but rewrote significant amounts of it.

I have the same gripe with many songs on Megaman 10's soundtrack. The lack of vibrato is really annoying once you notice it.

I love Mega Man 10's soundtrack. If it sounds as good as it does without vibrato, I think that's a sign of fantastic composition.

@@KewlNerd20X6 it's really good! in fact I just listened to against the pressure again and it works much better than I remembered. I think what happened the last time I revisited the soundtrack was that I had been listening to famitracker arrangements of many of the songs, like 8bitDanooct1's awesome VRC6 cover of Against the pressure, so my brain had come to expect those guitar like bends and wild vibratos hahahah

The lead guitar sounds better here and overall a bit smoother audio. I still love the crunchiness of the original, but I think this may be a slight improvement.

Gotta be one of my favourite tracks in Mega Man *period*. Short and sweet. I've actually got my own remade version in the works with ableton, just gotta film some gameplay footage for it

I think this fixes the issues that people have with X3’s instruments. It’s a bit more like X2’s & I’m all for it!

...I'm actually of the opposite opinion. X2 sounds super scratchy, I prefer X1 and X3

@@musictorin I used to like X1’s music but I played it too many times. I also used to like X3’s music the most, but it also just got a bit repetitive. I guess I like this remake because it’s something new combining a few parts of the trilogy & putting them together
