3:50 the reason some shells shrapnel bad is because when the penetration is at its limit (you penettate just enough for the shell go through) the game spawns less damaging shrapnel to accommodate for the slower flying shrapnel as the shell has been slowed enough by the armor. Medium thickness armor is the best spalling armor. Low thickness doesn't on the other hand generate enough of the damaging shrapnel

Now, just imagine if the ammo was modelled correctly and the reload rate was historically accurate.. _And it had it's missing roof mg, ofc_

France was my main For awhile and the ARL was definitely the most fun tank to play. I never worried about being uptier because the pen is actually decent. The armor is Questionable though.

The gun isn't that out of the ordinary considering that the Sturer Emil and Nashorn exist. The fact that it comes coupled with a turret and roof armour and decent hull armour, that is what sets this truly apart.

Fun fact: the ARL-44's turret was made with salvaged plates from the Dunkerque

You should try the amx m4. It received the same buff. It's a really good tank at 6.7 imo

Sadly the ARL 44 is prone to strafing because 30mm sides and 10mm roof. The gun was great even with only 205 pen. And hopefully gaijin will not nerf the hell out of the french techtree again as it can be argued that many midtier french vehicles are at a too high battle rating for what they are capable of. But the french do have the appeal of vehicles, which (in the right hands) just dominate the battlefield. Hopefully gaijin will not change the battle rating simply because the gun performs better now.

another thing to note with the arl 44's gun is that it sends a fast round. I think almost as fast as the long 88 of the king tigers. the turret armor is...weird at point blank range. I've fought t 34 85's at point blank range and somehow the turret shrugs off the round(maybe they hit the curves).

as a french main and a lover of the arl-44... this does put a smile on my face

The armor layout on the ARL-44 still wrong, but at least the gun is better now... it really lives up to the french tiger title. (What's wrong?) The armor on the turret side should be 50mm (it's 30mm in-game) and the front turret should be 120mm (not 110mm) ARL-44's were based on the B1's, so yes, they *are* supposed to have a lot of armor.

Not saying that the phly isn't still the best WT player out there...but I miss the everybody intros. Been watching off and on for almost 7 years and playing war thunder for similar time. That everybody intro was the life blood of my high-school and early college career. From the bottom of my heart phly, thank you and please bring back the iconic intro.

Would love to see you play the Ki-102 otsu, I had some fun games in GRB with it. It kills low armoured targets really well.

The ARL was always my favorite to play when i still enjoyed WT.

They're going to move my baby to 6.3 now, I can see it.

I might actually play this tank now. It used to be able to only pen panthers by the turret and with its fairly big shell it would almost always hit both of the plates in the turret and fail to pen cause volumetric makes both plates = over 200mm of armor. Now that it can pen the UFP that will be fun.

12:55 Unfortunately Gaijin got it backwards with armor spalling. From last I heard, they run some amount of spalling with rounds based on how much "penetration" is left after a round goes through an armor plate, but they made it so that lower numbers makes for lower spalling, even though the reverse is true IRL

You should do a video on the zachlam tager. It is a weird missile carrier and the guidance system is weird and hard to get used to, but it is really satisfying to get a long range kill on a big map like the sands of sinai and others like that.

Day 1: Play with good ol’ Germany Me 410 A-1/U4 it’s the older brother of the Me 262 A-1/U4 and it’s a 4.0/4.3 aircraft with 50mm barrel on it with 12.7mm it’s a very good vehicle to play on and dominate the tanks you can play it on 5.7 but whatever you like and I wish to see you play it ❤
