I really like the Performer 5; great tone, bass, and zero fatigue, but suffers in technicalities. Hook-X HBB is my current #1 IEM for music and balanced audio reproduction. ZSN Pro still kicks ass, as well as the excellent ZAS.

I would like to see OG Olina and IKKO OH10 rated on this scale as well!

Interesting list order 😂 I didn’t expect - EA500 to take top spot - Hola and Wan’er to be ahead of everything in the decent range - Hexa to be ahead of Heyday and Orcestra Lite

I have to disagree about the Kato. It does have a slight upper midrange boost but nothing irritating. Vocals (female) are great. Some tips do make it brighter sounding. But with quite a few tips it won't sound like that. You should try other tips. But Kato is definitely in the GOOD category

Awsome list, thank you. There are a couple of very simple mods you can do on the EA500, to increase the bass, making it even better. The mods involve taping filters onto the forward facing vent (next to thr nozzle). Interestingly you rate the 7hz Legatonreally highly. I'll have to check it out.

Great job ranking these IEMs man! I just have 1 question- How would u rate the 1 custom pm- 01? Is it better than the S12 pro and the ie 200 in ur opinion? (Especially in terms of technicalities)

I have both thr Aful Performer 5 & the 7HZ Legato on the way. I have mixed feelings about the Hexa. They're such a poor build; sometimes they sound great - sometimes meh. I got them the same day as the Dura Kima, and I use the Kima a lot - they're super neutral & do everything competently... but for music, I just can't deny that the KZ PR1 PRO are my outright favourites. That was my first batch of IEMS after the Salnotes Zero - the gateway drug!!! Also have KZ PR2 in the way... they were 23 USD & I just couldn't resist out of burning curiosity, given my love for the 3x PR1 PRO... although it seems like a bad decision for KZ to be releasing a PR2 when thr PR1 PRO are so highly rated to the point even super casual fans are hearing about them. Friends know I know a little bit about this Chi Fi stuff & have w good ear for sound (I couldn't make sense of a graph or numbers, but I've produced music successfully & have put on 1200+ shows with big artists & always go the extra mile with sound). This hobby really is a slippery slope 😅😅

I have both ea500 and orchestra lite, but I think the orchestra lite if better than ea500 especially in terms of detail retrieval and overall technical performance.. I also had the hexa before, to which I think inferior than the former two. now, you put the orchestra lite a lower tier than ea500, and also behind hexa in the tier, I really disagree

Nice list but without SR5 and 41T is not complete.

Ì owned both Galileo and s12 , but my cheaper Jadeaudio EA3 Berilium coated driver beated them both in clarity n bass. I think everyone should try Jade audio before s12 or Galileo, it's a better iem in all area than the 2 i mentioned Thank you. Good dac amp is required n cable is a must change requirement, stock cables are no good at all , including the s12 , and Galileo IEMS.

Do you think the Truthear Hola is easy to drive? Some people told me that it needs quite a bit more power than most budget IEMs under $20. Well, for me it's a bummer if I need to buy higher level DAC/AMP which probably pricier than the Hola itself. Currently i'm using the Tangzu Wan'er using Realtek ALC5868 DAC dongle that is only $10. If I'm gonna get the Hola, do I need to upgrade my DAC?

I'm not a Wan'er fan. I bought a set to use as a daily beater that I wouldn't care if I lost or broke. They didn't fit my ear canals well and were uncomfortable. I also didn't care much for the sound even after I was able to get a good seal. I guess I just expected more from them after everyone hyped them up. Are they worth $20? Sure because $20 is nothing in this hobby. There's a difference between good and good for the price. These two things are not the same .

Lol... I think Giz Audio is pronounced with a hard G. Think the G sound gigabytes. If you say it with a soft G it comes out Jiz which is slang for male ejaculation. FYI for the future.
