Well I've got some news for you.. Kiko appears to have left the band to focus on family instead of ride out with Megadeth.. Dave has done another interview recently where he was asked how many more albums you got in you and he said something to this effect.. 'well if we assume it's 2 years between albums and around 1 year in studio and I got them out quick he would get around 3 more out by his 70th birthday.. He then also suggested that with modern medicine and 'med beds' that it's very possible he could go until he is 80.. He host then said.. So by my math thats around 5 to 6 more albums then.. Dave says yes.. Around that many. Now let's not get carried away here.. Things in life happen that aren't forseen.. There was no expectation that TSTDATD would take 6 years to release.. Things happened to slow that down.. But if nothing like that happens again in the next 15 years we could have as many as 6 more Megadeth albums... Mustaine has said he does not see Megadeth retiring in the foreseeable future.. There's still much to achieve and do.. He is settling on I will retire when I can't play anymore or it doesn't sound good anymore.. So Dave could well put in another 20 years.. Man is an absolute beast.. A 60 year long career in metal is ICONIC

@@PhantomDeth Yeah, Looks like Kiko is gone. Sad to see because he brought so much life to Megadeth. Temu is a great guitarist but the music he has written so far is just fast up and down the scales. I hope the next album is as good as the last two.

@ebenezerspludge8369 I swear I replied to this comment.. My suggestion is you listen to the song Teemu was a co-writer for Call of Duty Black Ops 4.. And you also listen to the very recent interview he did with MegadethDigital on X.. I think Kiko has picked a winner here.. His discussion around Martys playing and the Lucritia solo in particular and why its such a good solo is very encouraging.. He also says that he is preparing for an album to come along and to make sure he makes as big an impact as possible should such an opportunity arrive.

Dave also over-reacted. If someone asked "are you a sucker for reunions" I would not get offended by that.

It's a sad example when interviewers just wanna sound so cool, by using stupid wrong words who don't fit in the question! Well done Dave for putting him in Place! Years ago he would slap him for the question!

Why do you say that

I prefer Megadeth to Metallica. It's not even close. BUT I've been re-discovering Metallica's music again lately. Load/Reload era aren't respected because of the style change that occurred. The same thing happened with Megadeth (starting with Countdown to Extinction) but the Cryptic Writings/Risk era isn't looked at fondly either. I personally like those albums from both bands. Yeah the thrash eras from both bands are the best, but changing styles is a hard thing for a band to do successfully. Some fans will walk away. You're right though. Had Dave been in Metallica all these years, that band would most likely still be relevant to the original fans. Thankfully, we now have 2 bands with double the musical output instead of one band releasing an album every few years. While I'm enjoying Metallica's music again, it's very clear that Dave is far and away the superior player to Kirk. Kirk's solos and general style doesn't inspire anything in me.
