I would recommend Acid Rain- Live in LA by Liquid Tension Experiment. John Petrucci, Mike Portnoy, Jordan Rudess, and Tony Levan. An all instrumental band. Pretty sick stuff.

Good reaction - should be getting some more views! Got into Megadeth with my buds during Peace Sells era. Metallica was cool, but Megadeth was BADASS! Their next album drops in July, hopefully it can live up.

For me it is Kiko, Broderick, Pitrelli, Poland,Drover then Friedman. Rude Awakening live with Degrasso on drums Al Pritrelli on lead and Ellefson on bass and Mustaines best vocals is the best I have seen Megadeth live. And I have seen just about everything Megadeth has done. Dave Mustaine is the G.O.A.T

I loved Menza. However, Gar was not treated well by the production on their first two albums. The remaster of Killing is my Business (which is the only decent remaster) really brought him out. Also their are some bass and drums isolated tracks on KZfaq from Peace Sells. He was really unique. My first concert was in '91, the Rust in Peace/ Painkiller tour. Talk about setting a high bar!

Nick was a metal drumming monster. Watched a video of him playing in OHM with Chris Poland before his death. His style of playing was perfect for Megadeth in the 90's. But Gar's playing, being different than a lot of metal drummers in the mid 80's, was crazy too. If you look up the youtube video of 'The New Yorkers' live album, a jazz fusion band with both Gar and Chris, it's pretty cool. It was recorded in the late 70's.
Just to respond... Mustaine started in Metallica playing a B C Rich guitar and continued in Megadeth with the same until he switched to Jackson's, which he was playing in the video, in the late 1980's. He signed with ESP in the early 2000's before moving to Dean a few years later. He sighed with Gibson in 2021. As for live vs album, I prefer album only because Mustaine's voice quality in some videos. Here it was great. I've watched other videos where his voice nearly cuts out on higher notes. It's funny how musicians, more often than not, prefer Megadeth over Metallica while the non musically incline prefer Metallica. Not always but it seems nearly every video you watch were a guitarist is watching/listening to a Megadeth video they say the same thing. They prefer Megadeth.

Thanks for the info! I think why musicians prefer Megadeth over Metallica is down to how technically proficient they are in comparison. Some of the things Mustaine and the band play are so hard you could practice for years and never be able to play it. Metallica is a lot more accessible I think for anyone and the Keys they play in and how they construct their songs is a lot simpler ( not taking anything away from them as they are awesome)
