Cool shit dude! I'm fascinated by other t.v. stations from decades past that played "music videos" or what I call "short promotional films"! So many people did not know and or realize that there were other ones besides MTV in different areas of the world! Did you all know what MTV was at the time?
@lifeisnice237 жыл бұрын
We all know that Mtv existed but we couldn't watch that! Mtv arrived on Italian tv only around 2001, too late for us real metalheads..but ,as I told you ,we had different good channels and programmes for rock and metal music back in the day...Today everything sucks ,only commercial pop and hip hop everywhere..
@alexkx85997 жыл бұрын
Awesome! I was in Europe a few times in the mid 1990's and don't remember any names of any music channels but I DEFINITELY learned that there were others! It was shocking and mind-blowing! If I recall the little bit I saw was much better than what we were seeing in the U.S.! It seems as if I remember them showing more documentaries and concerts...but I'm not sure. I was only in my late teens then. It's hard to find good information sometimes concerning them. Hmmm, I wonder why MTV came as late as it did to Italy in 2001? The reason I wonder that is because it seems like from what I remember it had spread to other countries by the early 1990's. (Like a disease! Ha! Ha! :) ) May I ask how did you all know about MTV before the internet?
@enricobalboni76817 жыл бұрын
this is not MTV, it was an indipendent tv that became very important in italy during the period 85 - 97, in 98s the real MTV arrived and bought all ... and it started to show all the same videos all the day

@stevn7447 ай бұрын
I prefer older metal because I think it has better sound vs newer metal genres. Like I love classic metal NWOBHM thrash metal and some groove metal but I'm not that big of a fan of death metal and I hate black metal and I really don't like glam metal either then nu metal is very hit or miss but it's okay I guess. But I think older metal is where it's at

I actually met Dave Mustaine a couple times when I was living in Stanton, California in 1975/76. The first time I met him he asked me if I needed anything for my car (a 55 Chevy I was building at the time) I told him I needed some spark plug wires and what kind, and he said he could get me a set for $20. I agreed and an hour later he has a brand new set of wires for me. What he had done was go to the local autoparts store and ripped them off. I know, because when I drove to the autoparts store with my new wires, the owner was asking me where the fuck I got my plug wires from. lol That's when it dawned on me that Dave got the wires by stealing them. Ya, I was naive. The next time I met Dave was again at my garage, but this time he had himself a little 22 pistol and was shooting it into the air in all directions. He was also high as fuck. He scared the shit out of me and he tried to sell me the gun. That was the last I saw of him.

Marty and Nick were the best lead guitar and drummer for Megadeth. I wish they were still with them \m/
I was so sad when I found out Marty left the band. He and Dave wrote some of the best stuff ever.
@imvandenh4 жыл бұрын
@@Michaelgracon Marty barely wrote anything for Megadeth. He wrote plenty for his own solo albums he put out during those years though. But I wouldn't call any of that Megadeth that was just Marty Friedman doing solo shit. Which he was not supposed to be doing after he fulfilled his contract with shrapnel records. Dave told him when he joined the group that he understood he had contractual obligations to fulfill but once he was done with that he didn't want him making any more solo records while being one of the faces of Megadeth. Very similar in fact to the whole squabble between James Hetfield and Jason Newsted when Jason wanted to go off and do his Echobrain side project.

I was there too. Megadeth were fantastic. Incredible festival there were Pantera, Testament, Black Sabbath with Ronnie James Dio, and IRON MAIDEN! What a wonderful metal day.

IMHO this is Marty Friedman's best Megadeth solo BY FAR!!! I think that it's what really makes the song, as it solidifies it as a true metal classic and perfectly sets the table for Dave to nail down the final verse/chorus!!!

Dave and Marty are the reason why I bought a Jackson and started playing guitar. This is the only song I know by them so far. I wish they still played Jacksons, but they're awesome no matter what they play 🤘

It’s so funny how the Metallica guys always ripped on Dave and mocked this song. Yet it’s probably the best Metal song ever made. I’m not even a huge fan of metal. But I’ve listened to a ton of artists in the genre….This song is truly legendary and timeless. No Metallica songs compare imo.

From an Avenged Sevenfold fan .. this is fucking beautiful. I see why all the old metal fans hate new metal .. but cut some slack. Love Pantera, metallica, and megadeath though.
