Original will always be better than its "pirated" version. I love the other version too but this is still better.

@Keen thanks to that, I am aware of the remixes. I was referring to the other version of the song that was renamed and lyrics changed. That was also beautiful, but I prefer this original song "Mechanix". Just my humble opinion, no hate. I love both Metallica and Megadeth.

Actually it's the other way around. Mechanix came first, in fact, it was even played and recorder in the earliest demo track "The Mechanix" with the same lyrics as the finished song. You can find it in KZfaq if you search "The Mechanix", only differences are that one is sung by James and it has a slower pace, while this one has a really fast tempo and is sung by Dave. The Four Horsemen kept the pace of the original The Mechanix, added/modified some riffs and completely replaced the lyrics. Mechanix was completely made by Dave, but it wasn't the only song he made all by himself for Metallica. He also made "Jump in the Fire" but he gave it up and now is in Metallica's album Kill 'Em All. Before posting a comment, make sure you know what you're talking about, because you might spread misinformation. Doing a google search is free and takes a couple clicks, so don't be lazy and remember there's always something new to learn!

Wtf are you talking about MECHANIX was released in 1982 on a metallica demo when dave was still in the band, he wrote it. Then they kicked dave out, stole the song, changed the lyrics and released it one year later. After that dave took back the song and used it for megadeth and made it faster.... that's the real story lil bro

Almost half of Metallica's songs are cover songs. You do realize that? They made millions upon millions off of just Misfit and Budgie covers alone. They are talented yes. But they aren't the most original band of the two and Megadeth never sold out. You can thank the one soft record Megadeth did on Marty Friedman and the producer of that album. Pound for pound, music writing and lyrics Megadeth wipes the fucking floor with Metallica. Metallica DID sellout. They went with Bob Rock who made bands like Motley Crue who were not radio friendly and got them writing songs that put them in heavy rotation, on the radio. In every sense of the word sellout, Metallica fits the label. Good for them, but bad for fans that wanted a step up from what they'd previously done. They had something really cool and when Bob Rock came into the picture, he ruined Metallica. Fucking ruined them. If you like music your grandpa will like, buy the newest and last 4 Metallica albums. If you want music that will scare your grandad buy ANY Megadeth. Even fucking Risk was better than any Metallica album post 1995! Fuck Metallica. Even Jason Newsted had even common sense to leave them. Guess who tried to join them after causing so much turmoil in the band? You guessed it, Bob Rock! Fuck all those guys man. Megadeth is and always will be a better band with better songs because they write their own stuff.

Dave wrote this song way before he was in Metallica, He was in a band Panic before and wrote this song. So yes Metallica took this song and changed the lyrics and added a slower pace guitar. BTW The Four Horsemen name came from Dave cause he used to call all the members in Metallica The Four Horsemen. Get your facts right(:

I didn't say that it's a Metallica song. Yes, Dave wrote it. But Metallica didn't take anything. Dave was in Metallica when James decided to change the lyrics, because he found them silly. James wanted to change the instrumental part also, to make it a longer song with that interlude, and Dave thought: Ok, I'll play Sweet Home Alabama and nobody would notice. I got my facts right.
