Seeing a lot of negative comments here. Far less than I see when there's a trailer for a paint-by-numbers action movie where you can shut off your brain or imaginations and just watch 'splosiuns'. This looks epic and Francis Ford Coppola is one of the greats, will be very curious to see what this movie is all about!

I will see this the day it opens, so please Francis and/or the distributors, there's demand for a wide release. We are hungry out here for imagination and originality in our cinema regardless of whether it all "works" or not. A polarizing ambitious work is what we need. Let it happen. I was one of the few who saw Babylon while everyone else was seeing that Avatar thing and it was worth engaging an imperfect but original movie.

At 1:28 mark, is where the story becomes brilliant. I know that feeling, this level…all that have ascended beyond the societal programming are at this level. It is a most amazing level…and it has nothing to do with material, wealth….its all mental. It is the ability to see life and the living in code instead of in a shell that we have been strategically placed in by society.

the problem with this kind of movies is, its too "colourful" for cinema purists(snobs) and too complex for the avg marvel enjoyer. I think if someone can watch the movie as a whole thing without thinking too much about camera angles, meaning of the colour palate, etc. / stop trying to look for the tits/abs of the actors, it will be a good one

Apparently this is completely polarizing for critics. Now, Coppola had the same reactions to Apocalypse Now when it came out. So who knows. I'm just amazed that the 85-year-old director whom everyone thought had directed his last movie managed to make something this ambitious. With his own money.
