Played in: Visual Boy Advance (GBA emulator)
To confront Bass you need to have all Chips except Life Virus and beat the game.

@@nathandrake5688 if its a regular charge shot then hold the b button, if your charging a battle chip you hold the a button (or whatever your battle chip button is)

It's kinda funny how Bass became such a big deal later on in the series, yet here he's just like "boo, super boss!"

Well, you can't exactly bring an well known character from the original series, and expect people to not want more of him. They most likely had planned to add Bass in the sequel, and put him in MB1 as a teaser.

Fun Fact: There are actually 176 chips in the game but the last one can only be obtained via Gameshark. And of course, it's the Bass chip. All I'll say is thank goodness they changed it so you could get a crack at the chip in BNs 2-6 onward. Hell even in 4-6 you get a different attack of his depending on the version. For Red Sun/Team Protoman/Gregar you get his AirBurst chip. For Blue Moon/Team Colonel/Falzar you get his Hells Rolling chip. And for Double Team DS you can even get that secret Giga Chip that I believe deals 500 Piercing damage to the enemy field.

@@Gfitty There _were,_ actually. They were available through the Wii-shop, which is no longer available, at least to the public.

@@aliesterus1.023 I think you mean the Wii U, but yeah, the Bass Chip was actually an event thing originally in Japan, and was added via accessing the multiplayer menu in the Virtual Console release(same with all the other Multiplayer or event exclusive chips for the other games)

In the legacy edition, you can download the Bass chip (even at the start of the game, which is kind of a cheat 😄)

Both are good. 2 may actually be my favorite in the whole series (it has the best music too, imo), but 1 has my favorite renditon of the Internet.

The first two games are the weakest in terms of gameplay but the story is just as solid as the rest of the series

This game was SO fun. I will never forget fighting a boss named Kingman and I think he used chess pieces. Lol. He was tough but I managed to finally beat him as well Bass!

Bass in this game and like mmbn2 was not that tough of a fight, but when you got to his post game version in 3 that's when get got to be super tough.

As you go deeper into the net, you’ll eventually reach an area wheee Heel Navis (the purple ones) are around. They’ll explain what’s needed to pass through test gates. The first is a test of bravery, and has two gates. Never escape battles while in the area and the gate will open. Be sure to take the right most gate at this fork. Next is a collection test. You need to earn at least 10 battle chips while in the area (this is also the area where you can earn the super rare and useful pop up chip). The next area requires you fight less than seven battles. Memorize the map and escape fights if you can as those don’t count. The last gate requires you maintain a minimum busting level of 4 for every fight until you reach the gate. If you fail at any time, you’re booted back to the entrance so this is mandatory. Get to the gate as fast as you can, and you’ll be in Internet 16, the room with the big square. Bass (or Forte if you prefer) only appears if you have collected one of every chip other than the Life Aura, so you’ll need to go everywhere else to farm chips first but the area does have all those useful mystery data packets to get so it’s worth the trip Note, once you open a gate, it stays open.
