Megaman X8 - Cutman Hidden Boss

This is an optional boss fight you can get to in Megaman X8 via Optic Sunflower's stage.
How to get it depends on what platform you're using. The PS2 version requires you to have a save file of Megaman X Command Mission while the PC version requires you to beat all of the top level areas in the stage.

I just realized. Alia says the file downloaded is called "CM". CM could stand for Command Mission, but it could also stand for Cut Man.

Interestingly enough, in the PS2 version of X8, you can unlock this fight without the cheat code by having a Command Mission save on your memory card. Command Mission has some concept art showing both Cutman and a Mega Man X style redesign of Cutman, suggesting he might've been planned as a secret boss in Command Mission, before Capcom -cut- their budget.

This Cutman Easter Egg... You need to have either Megaman Anniversary Collection Data saved onto your PS2 along with New Save Data for X8 on Normal or Hard Mode, If you have X Command Mission Data that also works fine, But you still have to battle the original Boss on your First Playthrough, then going back triggers a Cutman Mini-Boss. The Japanese Version lets you input a Fast Code as an Optional trigger.

@@megamix5403 it does indeed work and no button code is every needed. All you have to do is clear each of the challenges in Trioa Base with the highest ranking to see Cut Man. Although I dont remember if it only triggers before Optic Sunflower was defeated.

X is another MegaMan, not the original MegaMan. (In fact, they are not their past or future form of themselves) Cutman had met X when Wily wanted to help Vile to get some pieces of the lantanium. And sharing the pieces.

X isnt a reploid as reploid is a mass-up of replica and android X is the origin of reploids Dr. Cain used X's design to make reploids. in universe if people were to define X and Zero as being "Reploid-class" it means that their specifications most closely align with Reploid standards. even though they arn't reploids besides that it is said in a few games there are things in both X and Zero that can't be scanned or analyzed so there for can't be copied so all reploilds are more or less ripoffs of X.

it would be a slugfest for classic megaman for sure so to make it more interesting what if Classic Megaman can have access to all weapon he obtain from every title not just main series and every utility possible(basically wily war but way more expansive and you have no limit on how much you can bring) And X is in his X1 State with no armor and because he cant find light capsule he need to find bolt so Light can upgrade him. This will make thing much more interesting X never have a companion utility so some section he actually need the wall jump to suceedd and some stage like megaman 3 doc neddle man stage you need something like Falcon armor to get over the gap,also X cant get any heart tank so even though everything only dealing 1 damage he still have very low starting health so he still need to be careful. While Classic megaman being underpowered compare to his counter part is force to use weakness chain on even basic enemy so he can have enough energy for the boss and because platforming was never the main focus of X series most of his utility will be unused for awhile.

@@loritaylor1602 I don't have X8 (at least not yet) but from what I've been reading, go to Optic sunflowers stage and you need to light up all of the upper lights while going through the several training sessions on his stage, this isn't available in easy mode, there's also an achievement for defeating cut man in the legacy collection aswell, if you need any farther help, you could watch this video of someone doing it if the training sessions are giving you trouble kzfaq.info/get/bejne/npiip8qUnamsnKc.html
