You got that right regarding X. As for Zero you are wrong, Omega is just an A.I that was put inside the original Zero body. The body was further amplified by the dark elf and as a result Omega Zero is as close as we got awakened Zero from X5. However he is not as strong as the original Zero fully awakened with the virus. Copy-X would've been almost untouchable if he had any battle experience or knew how to use his powers. He had neither so he lost rather easily. If this was the original X, he'd be the strongest as SIgma has said it multiple times.

It is honestly tragic. Surely all of this could have been avoided if X appeared to his copy and told him of all the times that he teetered on the edge and nearly slipped, that no one has the right to decide who lives and who dies and that the people close to him, from the leaders to the ordinary, are just as responsible for his legacy as he was. X wasn’t a God. He never considered himself to be anything more than an ordinary person and that is what made him a hero.

@Formarotica It's a direct translation from the Japanese version. While it may be what zero "canonically" says it's not exactly correct. I believe what he really meant to say was that X was gentle considering he preferred to do things without violence but will resort to it if given no other choice. We practically see this through X4-X8 in moments such as when he tried to talk the Repliforce Colonel out of fighting, and with most of the Maverick encounters of X5 (hated his portrayal in X7 though.)

Copy X doesn't have anything off X besides appearance. Literally just a newborn bot with X's skin shoved into place of power. I won't say MMZ's original intent for X is better, but it is a very intense idea.

Well technically, you could say it was the fault of BOTH doctors, (And yes, I'm taking a page from Game Theory on this, but it's still food for thought) since I think I remember something in the comics saying about a robot's free will and it was meant to be some sort of connection to the average man. An ambitious stride, but the fact of how careless some of his actions were. Like letting Protoman, a robot who had an unstable power core and a number of potentially dangerous weaponry on him, venture out into the world with some unpredictable consequences, because he didn't want to be turned off and rather than just track him down in case he ends up causing any damage just builds two more after that. (I think Game Theory can word it better than I can, but you get the point.)

I too didn't want X as the villain. It would have destroyed his character as far as I'm concerned, especially considering the first game made such a big deal about his 30 year testing cycle and how it made him less susceptible to becoming a Maverick. I'll never understand how anyone could want X as the villain. It'd be like having Dr. Light or Roll as the villain in a classic Megaman game.

FLOWEY'S CRAZY VIDEOS it’s in the sense during the boss fight (phase 1) he uses similar looking moves from old Mavericks hinting back to the old x games . Basically my point , with what doctor light having said that I think x using his full power would be the ability to change armors willingly and easily and having access to *all* old power ups he’s taken from Mavericks over the years

The thing about that is that the morality thing wasn’t coded in. Of all the robots in the series only X truly has free will. Which is why he would be capable of falling like that at all. Not going maverick. Not glitching out and going haywire. Losing sight of himself like a human being. It’s mostly interesting for poetic reasons. But it would also give us the possibility of a redemption arc. Which could be neat too. And the whole thing mirrored X-5’s plot rather nicely, with the roles reversed. Again it’s mostly a poetry thing.

In general Megaman ever since X is all about the old being better really. Before the great minds of Light, Cossack even Wily, makes the world look toward the future, more and more weary due to the conflicts, but the new is better, Proto being bested by Megaman for example despite being the first of litteraly EVERY subsequent Robot Master thus the origin of X AND Zero and thus all Reploid because X, ironically one could get alot of similaritie between X and Proto both at the origin of their own generation, and Megaman and Zero for they are both the perfected form for what they were designed for and their own will is what puts them above their design, and in this instance Copy X and Bass, the copy was born but only manipulated thus only knew the worst and never how to become better, ofc each has their set of differances, but parralels are present. The reploids are only a fraction of what X was, ironically the Robot Masters also were a fraction of what Proto was, Proto was too advanced for his time, his own free will barely limited by his programming unlike all other subsequent Robot Master, and as far as things currently stands so long as he doesnt come close to Light he doesnt have to obey anyone else not of his own will, the closest to a reploid in terms of freedom, meaning all Robot masters are just fragments, a shallower copy of him. But then what about after Megaman, the world severely lost in technological understanding that only a fraction of X and even less of Zero was ever understood, the last two pinnacles of the old world the very top of what it managed to acheive in their quest for the future. Ever since then. The old was better, because the world never came back to such understanding ever again

In all honesty Copy Xs immaturity is based of the whole process of Copy X not being tested. Makes you wonder why did the actual X needed to be tested to begin with ?

I'd agree with you more if you were talking about the ZX games, which I love, and probably my favorite megaman games, especially ZX 1, but I will say those are more Metroidvania than megaman.

Here we go, Way to go Neputyūnu The original plot(Legends, BN and SF not included, they are completely something else) is in fact MEGAMAN. But in every series it's more different to the classic ones. X is fast paced, with dash, less waiting. Zero is Lightining paced, with almost no time to wait, you actually has to be more strategic and the weakness system doesn't help that much. In ZX it's easier, but there's nothing like strategy, it's more about ''attack it until it dies'' with Model ZX. But they are all platforming, with the same type of hazards. And only different speeds. What changes the most are the boss battles.
