Welcome to the music industry. Where you been at? Haha. Jk, and not just music industry, hip hop, pop, reggaeton, rock, etc. Everything. It definitely helps add a more “full” sound if you can sing along to the track. Keyword-SING (or RAP) along. If you just use the track to take breaths and catch yourself, it’s annoying. Cardi is lowkey known for running out of breath and also for rapping off-pitch. Maybe she’s better now but earlier in her career, like the VMAs when she did Bodak Yellow, she was rapping way out of tune! Oh wait… it was lip synched. It was lip rapped. That’s even worse. For rappers to LIP SYNCH.

Crickets? The whole crowd rapping along. Also, Cardi (God love her) is known for rapping slightly off-pitch and running outta breath. Just look at her earlier performances. And yes, most artists these days sing or rap along to the track for added “effect”, and that helps, but it’s clear when they’re relying on it. Such as when they don’t say certain words or skip entire phrases to breathe.
