The handbrake button on my wife's Megane 2 broke. This video shows the disassembly of the handbrake handle and my temporary repair.

I watched your video and fixed my hand brake handle. Mine was broken differently to yours but basically your video showed me what to do., Many thanks saved me a lot of trouble.

Thanks, this helped me fix mine, same model however all 3 lugs including the one holding the metal pivot had also crumbled but i used a load of epoxy resin to reconstruct

Thank you too bad you didnt show how to assembly it it tool mé half hour to put lever wire back to handle, i had broke both spring holder i drilled hole through plastic and use metric screw with and now its work.

You didn't need to tear and peel the leather stitches. It just slide towards the narrow side to the left if you are on driver seat lol

Think I did need to unstitch and peel. How else would I separate the two white plastic halves to work inside them? The wrap would not slide, as it was glued. By the way, over a year later the "temporary" fix is still good. Never did buy a new part.

Hello but can you actually buy that button or do you have to buy the whole handbrake?

I fixed the button partly because I couldn't find a way to buy it on its own. The new handbrake assembly costs a fortune, but you might be able to get one second-hand from a Renault breakers yard maybe, or on ebay. Good luck.
