This is so funny!! Two of those shirts were my husbands.😂 It’s so fun to think you turned them into dresses for your daughter. I never thought after dropping his shirts off at Fashion Cents I would see them again, especially looking so adorable on Evonnie. I absolutely love them! Great idea💛

I love your idea to recycle shirts into dresses! I think Evonnie might have an easier time with the straps a little narrower. An alternative would be to criss-cross them in the back and attach them with a button or snap on the front - leaving a little extra length inside the jumper for lengthening later. Such a fun time in your life! Enjoy it - they grow so fast!

Turning the men's shirts into little girl's jumpers - GENIUS!! I remember growing up that my grandmother would go to thrift stores and buy long sleeve men's button-up shirts and then cut off the cuffs and put elastic in the arms to create a ruffle on the bottom. She wore these all the time!! She loved to go thrifting!! She called it "junking"!! I am now a grandmother to 7 grands!! Watching this video sparked this memory of my grandmother and her reimagining thrifted men's shirts. Thank you for this!!

If the straps are problematic, or if she fusses with the bows too much, maybe shorten the straps, use iron on Velcro for the closure, and just sew a cute button on top! Snaps could also be another option. I love your creativity with this project!

I did the same thing when I started making clothing for my niece. Buttons were so much work so I used my husbands old button downs and made cute dresses for her. For the top portion I did smocking to help keep the dress up, along with straps. They all came out so cute, some of my nieces favorite pieces when she was little. Her all time favorite item I made her was a cape style jacket 🥰. Now I have my own daughter and I cannot wait to start making her dresses 🥰🥰🥰

Evonnie's jumpers turned out so cute. It was a brilliant idea to use men's shirts. I used to buy little denim skirts for my daughter and use some cotton print fabric to add a ruffle to the bottom of the skirt for added length. Then I;d make a matching tie from the fabric to serve as a little belt. It's so fun to make clothes for little girls. Going back to school also made me think that I always sent my daughter to school with little bike shorts under her dresses and skirts for modesty sake. I'm going to use the pasta bar idea for a company meal. My health limits me and a pasta bar would be an easy, but fun meal. I love your videos. Tfs

Great video, I loved it all. I love to sew and so I was doing that in my mind right along with you. The plaid flannel is just that way each time if you wash a flannel shirt it acts differently after it comes out of the dryer. LOL ........at least that is my experience. I would love to see the plaid colored one Evonnie liked, with her red hair it would be gorgeous I believe. You inspired me with tons of ideas with my closet of fabrics to do someday, so someday is getting closer as fall and winter close in. LOL Love the feeling of this vlog with the kids swinging and the music, it was so delightfully genuine and easy to enjoy the kids in nature just "being" a child. You and Josh have beautiful children. The eyes are so so dramatic. Blessed you are indeed! I know Evonnie will remember "Mommy" sewing her dresses......too sweet and so innocent are our babies.

Great idea! You are sew creative. I love that your children have so much home time with you as well. I always wondered how my mom could make me a new dress and take care of the house while I was at school and she was home with three other kiddos. You've solved the mystery. I love sewing on cotton and yes I would sew the button placket closed. Also you might mention to other thrifters to be sure and read the fabric content of men's shirts when you are choosing them. 100% cotton can take a hot iron. Blended fabrics not so much. Thanks for all your videos and your time.

Megan you did an amazing job. It brought back memories of when my mom made my dresses and smocks for school when I was Evonnies age. I do a lot of paper crafts and I love to decorate. My cousin's are the sewers and quilters in the family. My grandmother's when they were still alive they were sewers as well. I wish I picked up sewing. I don't have any kids of my own and have come with the terms it wasn't in gods plans,I'm in my late 40ish lol! But we have lots of small children in the family and love spoiling them all I am also a Auntie for the first time and absolutely loving it. I look forward to Thursdays and Honey Homemaker vlogs, recipes and tours of Lancaster. I frequent with my family often and can't waite to try some of the coffee places you suggested, I love the corner coffee shop but would love to try alternatives, my mom and I love lattes. Thank you for the suggestions and I have gotten items from your shop as well as Cocalico. I have turned my cousins on to your vlogs as well and they love watching.
