Just to note that when I filled out my arrival there I didnt need to write in hangul, you can just write the full romanized address of the place youre staying, or if its a hotel you can just write the city and hotel name. Incheon was a breeze, its so nice and efficient how they do things there
@kbajikar6242

I agree-no need to write in Hangul. I think the space is very tight. So they won’t able to read it if you put in Hangul.

Super useful ! I live in Korea for 13 years now and I didn’t know I can take the short line with my ARC (resident card), super cool ! Also if you are taking the train in terminal 1, use the ELEVATOR when you get off the train and not the escalator, that will put you in front of the line haha, I find many of the airline stewardesses use this route cause they know the deal :)

Hello Megan. I watched a lot of your videos before taking my trip in May 2023. Thanks for all the directions and advice. The only quirky thing that happened was actually in the US when trying to depart from Logan airport in Boston. Although I had already filled out the K-ETA, and was approved, Logan required I show them a hard copy. Of course, I left the hard copy at home because Korea didn't require it. I did have the screen shot on my phone but what a pain to email it to the luggage supervisor so he could print it off.

Hi Megan, I arrived in Seoul 2 weeks ago. I knew I didn’t need K-eta or Q-Code, but I had both. I’m glad I did because all I had to do was show my passport to the official. No questions asked, just finger prints taken and then I just walked out and down to the train. No forms to complete on arrival. Others on my flight from Australia were madly completing the yellow health form. This is my second trip and has been challenging with the heat, but I have noticed a lot more tourists than were here 11 years ago.

Took the subway for the first time and I watched your « master the subway » video like 7 times and I felt so confident after !😎 So I just wanted to say thank you for doing these kinds of videos, I’ve watched every single one of them and I really, reallyyyy appreciate the work that you do for us, and the way you explain things in a kind of funny way. I really love it!!! I hope you’re feeling better, and have a wonderful day 🫶🏻

Thanks to this channel, I was over-prepared when I arrived in Korea today. I didn’t need the K-ETA, like Megan said. And they aren’t even checking Q Code anymore. Megan, we just came from our 11 day trip to Korea. I got a CC with no international fees, thanks for the advice. We ate at the Tteokbokki place you recommended (I bought the foodie guide before leaving). It was really good and although the staff was not very helpful, the other customers were. A couple of college students helped us with the ‘how to’. We enjoyed it and had a nice time. Thank you for your advice on the T-card and the subway system. We used the Subway daily with no issues. We really enjoyed Seoul and Jeju. We will have to go back to continue exploring South Korea! Thank you for all the advice! It was very helpful. We almost melt everyday, but we enjoyed all of it!

When I went in April they had JUST stop the KETA, after we had already paid for it. 😑 And then it was about 3 hours to get through customs. We were not given the form to fill out. We just saw them on the way. Me and another guy who was on my flight happened to grab one, because we didn't really know if we needed them or not. So grateful we did! After waiting a couple of hours I would have hated to have to go through that long line again! fun fun.... But that was really about the only truly awful part of my trip!
@MeganOsten

Things have DEFINITELY changed since then! I’m really sorry to hear your experience was like this though… this spring/summer was the highest tourism has ever been in Korea so I’m sure that didn’t help 😔 Hopefully the rest of your trip made it worth it! 🫂♥️✨ For others: Customs has only been taking about 10-20 minutes these days and a lot of that is walking. You can fill out the Q-Code in advance if you want the chance of going through the line faster (some for K-ETA but I don’t think it’s worth paying money for - you’ll still be in the same line as everyone else).

As a fellow believer, I want to remind you that no matter where you are in the world, you are always held in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father. Being a foreigner in a new land may sometimes feel overwhelming, but remember that you are a beloved child of God, and He has great plans in store for you. God's love transcends borders, languages, and cultures, and it's a privilege to witness and experience that truth as you live as a foreigner in a foreign land. Stay strong in your faith, Megan, and know that you are a vessel for His divine purpose in every step of your journey. Blessings in Christ, J. 🙏

Me and and my girlfriend took a 3 day trip to Fukuoka to extend my time in Korea after 90 days during a recent visit. When I admitted this to the US customs officer upon returning to the States, he was incredulous. Lecturing me about how you can't leave to go to Cancun and reenter the States to reset a tourist visa. Well, fortunately not every country is as restrictive as our customs is! Seriously, I have always found the South Korean customs people to be incredibly chill compared to US customs.

Wow… crazy experience 🥺 Korean customs can be chill but I don’t recommend ever needing to go to the Korean embassy (those workers are no joke). So don’t overstay your visa or make any jokes with them 😅

Hi Megan, I love your video it was so helpful! I have a question about the Q-code, is that still required for US Citizens? I saw on some websites that is it not but I want to be 100%, I will be traveling there at the end of the month

Hi, we will be in SK in October…landing in Seoul, but only as a stopover for about 2 hrs and then the plane goes to Busan. I don’t think we are supposed to leave the terminal. Do we need to go thru the same process in ICN, including customs, even if we are not supposed to exit the airport in Seoul? I’m curious if we need to go through security again, in order to get on our Busan flight. Please advise. BTW, great job on the transportation series! Thanks!

imma travel to Korea on the 18th of october. planning on staying for a month. Thanks so much for this. Calms my nerves. Anyway if I am not sure when I'm leaving. might be 4 weeks or 8 weeks if I really like it, would they mind at the desk were they ask you questions? I guess that is for giving you the visum right so they need an exact date when you leave... How does this work cause i'm not sure.

No mention of the Q-code... but just read an advisory effective July 15, 2023 that it is no longer needed. Not sure though if it is just country specific.

Hi! I'm going to layover in korea for 18 hrs and staying at the grand hyatt hotel that is 15 mins away from airport. Do i simply fill out the arrival card on the plane? From Canada, so no more K-ETA? Thats awesome! 😂 i wonder if i need to get my baggage or it auto transfers to next flight.

Update : Arrival Card is a must to fill in ( get from flight staff or near the immigration counter . Q code ( walk through health check checkpoint and they didnt ask for it), Custom declaration form unless you are required.

Hi, I have a transfer flight through Korea with a 12 hour layover and wanted to see some of Korea during this time, I figure this means I'll have to go through the usual entry process. I am from the UK so I don't need an eta but had a question about the arrival card, because its a transfer I don't have an accommodation nor will I have a phone number to put down - any advice as what to do in this scenario?

Thanks for the tips!! I love your videos ❤ they are super helpful!!! 😊. Q: my friends and I are going to Korea for the first time coming from US at the end of Sept. We fly to Jeju with a layover at Seoul, but flying out of Gimpo to get to Jeju. Does Jeju require anything that you may know of that we’ll need prior to arrival? And another dumb question sorry, but am I safe to assume our check-in luggage will be transferred during that layover or do we need to grab it before we head to Gimpo and re-check it in again?
@MeganOsten
@MeganOsten Жыл бұрын
No dumb questions!! ☺️ If you have a question then someone else probably has it too and that makes you smart for thinking of it 🫂♥️✨ *Anywhere in Korea to Jeju, from my understanding, has no requirements! It’s entering the country that matters. But please check the immigration website for updates on everything! *When you enter a country you usually have to get your bags re-checked. I am not sure if they will do this for you or if you will have to do this yourself. When I transferred through Seoul I don’t remember rechecking my bags but things may have changed. However, there will be signs that clearly say “transfer”, just make sure you’re going to the right one (transfers in Korea). Also, when you check-in for your first flight, you can ask them this question and they will tell you if you need to re-check the bag yourself or not. Safe travels ☺️✨

Hello Megan and fellow youtubers! I was wondering, first timer to visit Korea in November. I hold a US Passport and will only be staying for 8 days with my family. I was reading that if you're staying for 90 days or more that your US Passport must have at least 6 months of validity before it expires. Is this also the same for short stay tourists? I know some people who have gone without any issues and their passport expired in less than the 6 months. I was trying to confirm with Immigration and they have no email address.

Hey Megan, I have a US Green card with Indian passport, travelling from US to Thailand via Incheon airport. There is a Layover of 12 hours in Incheon airport. I heard about free transit tours in the airport. Do I need any Visa for those tours? If so what Visa should I get and any links for that is appreciated. Thanks much

I've been there often recently. I do the q-code ahead of time each time. I still fill out the arrival card on the plane (just in case). But in my experience, the immigrations officers have never asked me for it in addition to scanning my q-code. They only took it from me on my first trip there (when quarantine was still a thing).

Yeah - they haven’t asked about it in a while (but a few months ago it was mandatory). But it’s such an easy document to fill out quickly - it’s kind of like… why not! Safe travels ☺️✨
