Three queens were injured so the show was a modified in concert version. Mostly the same cast as will be on Broadway. They gave a great effort but honestly it made me miss the cast on Norwegian Bliss!

Seymour and Cleves definitely have knee braces here. And K. Howard definitely holding onto her ribs :(. Hope they feel better.

Michael A yeah lol they (Seymour (Abby) and Cleves (Brittney)) were injured and Sam (Howard) had this problem with her ribs and there was apparently like something ball like in her back (i don’t remember exactly) but after this performance they had the alts go on ;)

@@epicslimefails Seymour (white), Cleves (red), and Howard (pink) were suffering injuries before the show and performed in an intimate concert style with no choreography hence the stools and water bottles.

Brit was acting energetic as usual! Sam was trying super hard and was masking the pain and sounded amazing. Abby sounds in pain because her voice sounds off

Apparently she was really pushing through serious knee issues since the knee problems continued and prevented her from performing in St Paul. I hope she and Abby get better soon!!

Miss Aragon & Parr definitely wasn’t injured they were up there KILLING it and serving us dance moves! Poor Howard though, I could tell something was up even before reading the description, I hope all the queens are feeling better now

That was the problem, Howard and Seymour were both covered by Mallory and she could only go on as one queen. Nicole was legally not allowed to cover any of those two.

I'm really confused. I assume they did this performance like this because someone in the cast was injured. In which case, why did not just put the understudy on? I must be missing something.

Three cast members were injured, and there's only two alternates. It wouldn't have made a difference as the setup would have been the same. Kudos for them for not giving up and still giving a great performance.

I think if this is going to be ongoing for the rest of the run, they might want to call up Courtney Mack since she’s joining next month for St Paul anyway. Or at least finish teaching Nicole the other three.

The dedcription is not accurate actually... sam pauly/k howard was injured pretty badly in the end of the week so she had yesterday off

The other queens were perfectly fine and had to have a chair like Sam so she can have a rest if needed and they performed a more intimate concert due to Sam's injury

Lewis Mansfield Sam had two ribs out of place and is currently recovering from that. It has been said that Abby was seen wearing a boot but obviously not here, she’s been out of the show for a little bit so she must be recovering too. Brittney has been wearing a brace on her knee for the past few shows. They’re troopers for bouncing back so quick! Unbreakable🖤

Courtney wasn't part of the cast yet, and even if they had brought on one of the alts, it wouldn't have changed the setup, since the alts weren't allowed (maybe still aren't) to cover more than 3 of the queens, so either Abby or Sam would have still had to preform. So there still would've been one injured queen, and the concert setup wouldn't have changed.

I might be wrong, but I think at this point they only had 2 understudies (Mallory & Nicole), as Courtney Mack hadn't yet returned to the show. So even if they put the 2 alternates on, they'd still have one queen injured and would probably still have to perform the show in this 'concert' style, and it'd be kinda pointless.

This show always has problems like this. They seem to be really disorganized when it comes to handling the cast members. The costumes for debut performances are never ready(they mostly wear an extra band costume) or they don’t have enough understudies at all when something happens to the queens. I’m really proud of all the girls who went on with this show, you can see they were in pain and still kept going. But I feel bad for them also, they shouldn’t have to go through this if there were more preparation beforehand.

Letícia Valentim while you aren’t wrong by any means, I feel like it is a lot more noticeable with six. As their are only six cast members, and every performance has a chance to record the final song

they have an understudy for every 3 queens which to be honest is more than other shows, there is only six members so its more noticeable

also there costumes are ready for there debut but sometimes they have to go on earlier thats why they wear the band costumes, im sure youd rather see a queen with a band costume than not see them at all🤷🏽‍♂️

I think the US Cast just needs more alternates. Definitely at least three. And honestly doing like the west end cast has would probably be better with three alternates and a universal swing.

Abigail Noel Mortensen even with 3 alts, once they had to get someone from the old cast and the writer, toby (who KILLED IT btw) had to go on, no matter how many alts a show has things like this can still happen!
