Theres no lie here. At the time you made this post the dps difference when comparing the best parses worldwide(none of which are you or anyone participating in these discussions) the difference in high end DPS is 12%(highest:Monk, Lowest:Dancer) which isnt enough to actually make any sort of difference without the rest of the team also failing to perform, thats also perfect play by the best players in the world in their respective roles. When looking at the data of the average player the average was and is ~3-5% depending on encounter so, you are ignorant and are probably the cause of most wipes and disbands you experience. To further compound the issue of your ignorance is the fact that machinist wasnt even the "worst" dps at the time and has since recieved a number of buffs.

@@thedarkness125 I would love to know what data you're looking at because in asphodelos on average it was the worst performing dps even behind the other phys ranged. In abyssos its average was higher than all the other phys ranged and casters baring black mage, but looking at every best parse its still the lowest. That just shows that the classes damage is very baked into its buttons with very little for skill expression. This is still true to this day on the current raid tier. It was so bad prior to receiving those buffs that you mentioned that it and red mage were actually benched in the world first races for abyssos due to tuning and damage. If you want to play MCH be my guest. At the end of the day it's a video game we all play for fun. You don't need to lie to the person on the other side of the screen telling them it's "known for big damage" when in reality its known for doing very little and being one of the jankier classes to play.

it either needs to double down on being selfish and get damage buffs to keep up with the Melee DPS classes, or it needs to get more support effects (shared buffs or enemy debuffs, either will do). It's such a cool Job, I really wish it wasn't so mediocre compared to other DPS jobs.

Machinist was not nerfed in 6,2, its still same. Also stupid advice. MCH can clear all content.

yeah mch can clear all content unless you're doing week 1 prog then play something else cause of dps checks

@@beckham3533 No, he can clear week 1 progs, who told you that bs? You wont be able to clear it with like 4x MCH but one? No problem. You can only fail this DPS check if you are bad or you really pick worst DPS composition for this. And its probably only recent DPS check, last tier MCH cleared without problems.

@@beckham3533 No, thats obviously false. Its fkin annoying talking to clueless people who have no idea how that works and never touch savage content. You heard some loose information on internet and you think you know anything now. They could have beat it if they would play better, swapping for harder jobs if you cant clear on easier one is stupid. MCH have decent enough burst for that DPS check, sure not as much as SAM but still meta comps had like 2-3k+ team DPS more than needed for this check, swapping BRD or DNC for MCH would be ok, its like 100-200 rDPS loss so still can pass check easily. Difference between ranged melee is not enough to give you that extra 1%, its very tiny and situational. So in short no, thats wrong unless we are talking about worst DPS comp possible.

The guide is to switch your job stone to BRD or DNC and then get directed to those class guides.

On a somewhat unrelated note, am I the only one that finds playing on a controller is way more fun than on a keyboard? Take Gunbreaker as an example. Pull a trigger, the crossbar comes up SCREAMING for you to press a button. I push Triangle, Up, Triangle, Up for my Gnashing Fang combo, and double tap R2 and press Square to unleash Blasting Zone. It's so good.
