Meghalaya youth dies in Assam rehab centre, family alleges murder, demands justice

Family members of Meghalaya's 36-year-old Niksamseng Marak, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a rehabilitation center in Assam's Goalpara district, have demanded that all the persons involved in connection with the case be arrested at the earliest and booked as per the law.
The kin of Niksamseng have alleged that he was murdered and was wrongly sent to the rehabilitation centre without the approval of the court. Family members of the deceased have also thanked the Assam Police as well as the Goalpara and West Garo Hills district administrations for their swift intervention and action.

Many crimes happen in other parts of North East as well. Maybe you don't watch news regularly. Criminals are everywhere. You can't just generalise the whole state. Assamese people are also tortured and brutally murdered in your so called state.

Rehabs in Assam mostly are run by thugs who are just clean for some years and want to earn easy money fast. And most of the councilors and so called owners are either sex maneics or addicts themselves. Why sex maneics because they pray on clients wifes or sisters and so on by manipulating them. Thease people are actually very rich, cunning because in public they show they are helping addicts but instead they use them for their needs, there are lots of cases which happened in gauhati Assam too, but you see the fact is money can buy anything that is what the owners of rehabs are doing its simply business for them. They don't care for the clients or their families just manipulating them for their needs. So the Assam government should do something about it.

Terrorism and drugs abuse are trends which are biggest headachs internationally. The outcome specifically of the drugs abuse is manifold. It is observed that this parasitic attack is prevalent among people irrespective of their status. Unchecked trend has rather increased and subsiquently number of rehabilitation centres have increased. Many of them are understood to be rather centres of drugs business, centres of physical torture, many are running such centres without experts and norms and guidelines. In the last week of July'24 one young boy in Arunachal was tortured to death. I pray for solace of the bereaved family.
