He was said to have been going as much as 100mph but the final investigation estimated his sped at 58-68mph which admittedly was far above the posted speed limit. There was also another car involved in that accident which although identified as to model and colour was never found despite endless months of searching. There is no way of knowing how contact between the two vehicles occurred but at the highway speeds her car was travelling even a sideswipe would likely have been enough to cause the driver to lose control. Such a scenario does seem likely since the other vehicle was not badly damaged enough to prevent it fleeing the scene. Diana often communicated with the press and told them where she was or the time she might be emerging, being pursued by the paparazzi was certainly nothing new for her. I think for Harry and for many others it just doesn’t seem possible or acceptable that she died in a simple traffic accident.
