Archie was offered the courtesy title Earl of Dumbarton at birth because by custom he was allowed to use a title that already belonged to his father that he wasn't using. Harry IS the current Earl of Dumbarton. Lilli was allowed to be called Lady before the queen died. Meghan thought it was beneath them both and was just waiting for great grandma to die. The problem with Meghan and Harry is that they compare themselves to William and Catherine, who occupy a very unique position. While the queen was alive, they SHOULD have been comparing themselves to Beatrice, Eugenie, Viscount Severn, Lady Louise, and the other grandchildren of Elizabeth. But then Harry should have looked to his cousins, some of whom live private loves without constantly trashing the monarchy, as a guide to what was and is appropriate for his position for his whole life. Especially since he is now #5 - basically surplus stock vs. "spare." Now the one difference is his kids are like Eugenie and Beatrice - but still aren't -and never will be- like George, Charlotte, and Louis.

I just hope the children have good nannies that teach them better than their parents ever could...common sense, humility, kindness, etc.

The King always has to stand on the moral high ground. His position is not just of State but also of Church. His Christian forgiveness and ability to turn the other cheek is admirable. I’m disappointed to see so many people having no real loyalty. What so many loved about the Queen was her understanding of history and how the choices she made could shape history. This supports a theory I have always had that yes, H and M’s children were eligible for Prince/Princess titles, but that they would be confirmed at the time of the Coronation, and the same for the new Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. I also think that this was probably agreed between the Palace and the duplicitous duo after the death of HMQ. But they just could not resist one more piece of malignant spite by announcing it themselves in advance, could they? Hence the hurried announcement about Edward and Sophie. Also their press attack dogs have been making out that the RF “snubbed” the christening - reliably reported that the RF were given 48 hours notice of the event,so how in hell COULD they attend? The Royal engagements are published EIGHT WEEKS in advance, so the world knew what they would be doing on that date - it was on the website. But, hey, it generated acres of press coverage for this nasty couple of grifters, so they will probably chalk it up as a success. So what to do? Possibly after the coronation, amend the criteria for Counsellor of State to include UK residence, and issue letters patent to permanently strip the HRH designation for them and their children on the basis that they have made their intentions clear and that their children will be raised in US and never be working royals. I think Frogmore was just the start.

I really feel bad for Harry and Meghan kids. They have been alienated from their family on BOTH sides and it’s beyond their control until they become independent adults. They are victims of animosity via the foolishness of their parents. And I know how that feels and many of my family members too. Their parents, being the aunts and uncles of us cousins, kept us from getting to know the family. They eventually made a pact that any animosity between the parents (aunts and uncles) will not interfere with the cousins. I hope that the families they are kept from will not hold the foolishness of Harry and Meghan against them. Cousins have to stick together, they share grandparents they love dearly.

I read the 1917 letter patent and the way I understand it it is the OLDEST SON of a monarch only and HIS OLDEST SON only (so the oldest grandchild of the monarch) who receives the prince title automatically. For the other children, there has to be a letter patent signed by the monarch. For example. Queen Elizabeth signed a letter patent in 2012 declaring that ALL children of Prince William were to be prince not only the first born.

Prince William was in direct line to the throne, hence his children were at birth Prince and Princess. Mr Spare was the SPARE and needed to wait until his father (King Charles) ascended the throne.

at some point new letter of patent will have to be issued by the King. That would be the correct moment to state that no overseas royals can have titles, because there is a permanent duty of service to Britain and the Commonwealth. The letters patent can even make a statement about commercialising royal titles to exclude them. Anything else, means the monarchy is in jeopardy through a second royal home dedicated as a money making machine for Markle and as a platform for the psychopaths to wage war on the future Heir and his wife.
