What I don't like about Van Jones is how he rewards republicans/conservatives for doing the bare minimum of decency like they're curing cancer or something

Why Van Jones, Why? I applauded you for Jay-Z as your first & then you interview Meghan? Her father I get he has a record. But who is Meghan exactly? You mention het father throughout so why not just interview him. What is her offer or political direction that makes you "grateful she is on this earth"? She is on a panel show. She hasn't worked in the real world or experienced challenges of society like the rest of us or attempted to emphasise. Meghan has entitlememt issues and you gave her a platform. She was bragging about being on this show on The View as if some attack upon the others that she is better & got this slot. Yet, question, why did she get this interview? Disappointed already with this series. What a waste.

If you think this clip with McCain is a gem, you should listen to his speech where he concedes to Obama. That was a real tear-jerker. McCain is truly a great man.

Wow I’ve never seen that clip of Senator McCain defending Obama during their presidential race. That just reaffirmed how much I respect him despite our political differences. I remember when Citizens United happened, he was one of the only Republican Senators to adamantly voice dissension against the Supreme Court’s ruling.

Not sure if this is the full interview or not, but I would have liked to see her explain why she’s against universal health care. Not everyone can afford the care her farther gets. Maybe, just maybe, she might have an ounce of compassion for those less fortunate.

Well this one is still there carrying her life size business card: John McCain. Seriously would she be on TV had she not been his daughter? To those who rush to saying McCain is an honorable man, I wouldn't praise him that much. He is part of what created the situation we have now with the dumbing down and radicalization of politics in general and republicans in particular. The dumbing down of the republican party started gradually and he accelerated it when he chose Pailin. No respectable human being picks Pailin to do his groceries let alone be Vice President of a civilized country. If McCain had a heart attack she would have been President. The tea party (which was just a racist movement in disguise) and the Glenn Becks and all that, McCain capitalized on it. The republican party rejoices itself with picking "incredible" candidates. For people who criticize Government (which they all desperately want to be a part of) they are the ones who actually make government worse. We need government in a civilized society, what we don't need is bad incompetent government. But the worse are them...

In 2007, I was ready to vote for John McCain. Then, he got Sarah Palin as a running mate. She was interviewed by a national magazine and couldn't answer ANY question intelligently. It seems she was selected to appease the Tea Party people. So, I voted for Barack Obama instead.

As a flag waving liberal, I have absolutely no problem. Friends, family and social friends often share her views. Hey. We are all Americans. Differences yes. But this is America. Van This woman has not had enough of life's experience to understand what others are dealing with or have dealt with. Yes, she is entitled to her opinions but, her approach and attitude is all wrong. The opportunity she has been given to be a member of the staff on the VIEW or any other media program is allowing her a platform without working in the 'TRENCHES,' she would not dirty her hands. It is one thing to make comments and speeches another to have been a part of. WHY ARE YOU PRAISING HER? She is rude, whinny, talks to fast, a 'VALLEY GIRL TYPE.' WHAT HAS SHE DONE? Van, it is sickening, the manner in which you praise her, she has done nothing to receive such praise. ARE YOU EXPECTING AN INVITE TO HER FATHER'S HOME?. You are suppose to be an interviewer, not doing a good job, reason I don't watch your show. A good interviewer would ask hard questions, you are unable to do that. She is living off of her father's fame. I have never been a fan of McCain, he blows with the wind, which ever direction he can benefit from. There are veterans who have been wounded worse who have not received the same care/treatment still struggling. Veterans who do not have the support system he has and most importantly, the insurance and financial means. Praise those veterans who did just as much if not more and the families left behind. How about extending your platform on CNN and allow them a voice. Meghan has lived in a privileged environment, good for her, few have that experience and few have been given the opportunity to tell their story. I am sick of hearing about McCain, there are other veterans and military members. Why not spend your time interviewing veterans and the general public who have really done something with no parent to open the door but still managed to work hard for their families and communities. I am sick and tired of you and others in the media who continue to give an open mick to those who have done nothing but give lip service and she is not even interesting. If you are going to stay on the air at least use your platform well or not at all regardless of the fact, I don't particularly care for your method of interviewing.

But it is impossible to have a conversation with people who throw facts out the window and base their opinions on the "alternative facts" spread by this administration. Like how do you start having a dialogue with someone who flat out denies racism exists in our country?

Very well said at the beginning Van Jones, there is a lot to be said for being able to lay your head on your pillow at night with a good conscience. She was talking about her co-stars on The View when she said the part about accusing all Republicans of being racist. Joy and I think Whoopi also had said that Republicans are racist just a day or two before this interview.

What most people don't realize is that when people keep praising John McCain for saying Obama's not an Arab, you have to think about McCain's response to that lady saying what she said. When she said "I can't trust Obama, he's an Arab!" he said "no ma'am, he's a decent family man." Basically, he said that if Obama was an Arab, it would be impossible for him to be a decent family man. The only thing John McCain did was not only defend Obama against an ignorant racist but also demagogue an entire community by saying "if you're Arab, you can't be decent, you're automatically a bad person."
