5 жыл бұрынHere we share a few tips and information that will help you get the most out of Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax. The thought behind this ceramic wax formula is to deliver SiO2/ceramic technology in a way that is easy to apply. Basically, all you do is spray it on, rinse and dry. You end up with increased durability and protection when compared to traditional waxes and sealants, and it’s much easier and quicker to use.
First Application: Establish a strong foundational layer.
To get the most out of this ceramic spray wax it’s important to first establish a strong foundational layer. Doing this is incredibly easy. Just like you would normally do when applying Hybrid Ceramic Wax, you want to wash the car with your car wash soap and thoroughly rinse it off with water. Then, spray the product evenly over the entire vehicle. Instead of rinsing the ceramic wax off with a strong stream of water to spread it, for the very first application we recommend that you simply go right to drying the vehicle with a premium microfiber drying towel like Meguiar’s Water Magnet Microfiber Drying Towel.
For many of you, this isn’t anything new because you may already use a spray wax like Meguiar’s Ultimate Quik Wax with a “wax as you dry” method. This is the same idea here. What this does is it helps to make sure to spread the product evenly across all surfaces, avoiding missed spots because of any puddles of water that might have blocked the product from bonding to the paint. This easy one-time foundation layer application will eliminate those issues and make the beading action even more intense for your future applications.
Routine Application: Every time after the first application.
Once a foundational layer of Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax has been established, you will apply it the regular way. What is the regular way? Wash the car with a car wash soap as you normally do and rinse thoroughly, but don’t dry the water off the paint. Spray Hybrid Ceramic Wax onto the body panels, starting at the top and working your way downward. Now use a strong stream of water to spread the product fully, again starting with the roof. The water helps to evenly spread Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax over your exterior surfaces. Once this final rinse is complete, you can now dry the car as you normally would, using a quality microfiber drying towel.
Note: If you happen to have an existing wax or sealant on your car, or even a full coating, you don’t need to strip it off before using Hybrid Ceramic Wax. Meguiar’s Hybrid Ceramic Wax will bond over any existing protection, locking that in and providing a durable, water beading over it. This includes using Hybrid Ceramic Wax as a top coat or LSP (last step product) over any of Meguiar’s waxes.
It really is that easy to get hybrid ceramic wax protection on your car, in your own driveway. And it’s so easy to do, you can quickly boost your paint’s protection as often as you like!

I did the initial wax as I dry with this product as described, but my follow-ups have been more similar to the initial coating. After washing my car each time, I spray a small amount on the wet panel(s) and wipe dry as I go. It takes very little product, works great, and dramatically reduced product usage. I might use 6-8 sprays of the hybrid wax on the entire car. It seems to bond better (like the initial application), saves product, and gives fantastic results. Spraying it on and washing it off does not seem to bond as well and wastes a lot of product. Granted it's not crazy expensive, but why waste it and get inferior results??? Another thing thing I've been doing (with great results) is when doing a waterless wash, I've shot several sprays of this product into my ONR/water waterless wash sprayer and "washed" the car with it, just like I do with regular ONR/water... Again, looks great and adds the hybrid wax in one shot!

I just watched this video for advice after buying it this afternoon. I was thinking exactly the same, surely it would be better to apply like the initial coat every application. For me it wouldn’t be too much effort and if it saves waste even better. A win win, happy car owner, repeat buyer 👍

I like the fact that you can use this product on top of the existing wax that you used I have the Meguiars Carnauba wax and now I'm going to buy this bottle of ceramic wax to put on top of that.

I LOVE this product. I've always hated to do traditional waxing. Basically replaces the need for traditional waxing, is super easy to use, and works amazingly well. I've never looked real seriously at Meguiar's products, but this one has me completely revisiting all of their product offerings! Job well done guys!

customer called and asked if we carried this stuff (i work at pep boys), i checked the shelf, didn’t see it, so i looked it up online and found the part number, checked the system and it was available to order so i ordered a bottle for the customer & myself and i can say that this is one of the COOLEST products i’ve used, the week after i washed my car we had constant rain and i was able to see the water just run off my hood and i didn’t see any water spots until another week of rain

I've found that mixing a small amount of the product with water in a spray bottle and using it like a standard spray wax works best. I apply it to the surface and wipe it in using a damp MF-cloth and allowing it to 'flash-over' before removing it works best after washing the car. I then buff it clean. Works great.

Did my car in this very happy with the results. But then I did all my house windows outside with it and the PVC frames and the doors. Just cleaned them first let them dry and put it straight on and a little wipe. This product is brilliant all around the house. Even put it on the tiles in the shower and shower door. So easy to just clean now. Wonderful all round product with more uses than for a car.

I was introduced to meguiars almost a decade back - and when it comes to consumer accessible quality stuff - you guys do it best . After being on traditional waxes/sealants didn’t want to go full route on ceramics - this hybrid spray wax fills perfectly . I even diluted it and use it as a QD and it works better than my dedicated QD . Great product 👍

I remember the first car show I went to after I got my drivers license, I noticed many *ahem* experienced gentlemen seemed to be using the same product on their cars. I asked one of them what he was using, he said "Meguiars Quick Detailer". That was it! I've been a fan ever since. When the old men *ahem* excuse me, the experienced guys, are all using the same product...I figured I probably should be too. That was almost 25 years ago. I've not been disappointed yet!

One detailer talks trash and others actually test the product. I watched apex detail and others do the process and then see how far it lasts using from light cleaners to aggressive cleaners to see how long the coating hangs around and at this point MHCW has been shown to work. I myself have gone through 2 bottles and is doing great for me in the South Florida sun and rain on my Mustang GT. And to top it off I work on the west side of the airport and get a lot of planes landing and taking off, dumping their jet soot and the wind blowing a lot of dust and dirt around and the stuff sticks less to my paint now. Before MHCW the rain wouldn't rinse the dust off, but now when it rains my car looks like I just washed it. So as far as I am concerned MHCW is worth every penny.

I've been using a ton of Meguiars products since the 80's. I love each & every one of them. My biggest disappointment was when the Medallion line was discontinued. I'm going to try this new product in the hopes that it works as well as it looks.

Not sure what you mean by "stripping" but this products primary function is to protect your paint. It will not do anything to remove defects in the paint. That is something you would want to address first with a good/safe compound like our Ultimate Compound.

@@meguiars yup. If a drink spills on my leather seats, id loove to able to just wipe it off as it beads/ slides on its ceramic coated surface. Ceramic pro has a product that coats interiors. Im just the type of person to stick to the same brand! 😉 I already use your leather cleaner and my blavk leather looks brand new. Everyone is amazed its a 2013! Thanks for the amazing products!

Used this today for the first time on 2 cars. Found the first car (red Honda jazz) was quite smeary and needed further buffing with a mircofibre. I think I maybe applied too much. Tried straight after on a diamond silver mercedes and it was perfect. Both cars look great!!

I’ve done the initial application on my car so far. Let’s say I want to use another wax on the car like Ultimate Quik Wax, do I need to do the initial application of HCW again if I want to continue using it? Or can I still just use the subsequent applications after using UQW on the car.

The Hybrid Ceramic Wax will work over any existing wax, sealant, or coating.

Yes, this product can certainly be difficult to work with if too much product is applied. You almost have to look at it like a concentrate only using about 2-4 squirts per panel. The drying or rinsing will then spread the product. 👍

@@lance3613 - Anytime you clay your car it should be followed with a paint polish. If your not familiar with this stuff I suggest taking it to professional detailer. They'll break down the process for you and do it right. Surface prep is key to any coating or wax.

GT3 RS Driver best prep would be... pre rinse, then pre wash with TFR (for lower body parts) + Snow Foam... then a two bucket wash, then fallout remover, then clay bar, then polish, then wax? I presume those steps would be the best for at home cleaning.

So, steps: - wash the car - do NOT dry the car - spray ceramic wax on all paint surfaces (what happens on the glass?) - spray the car with hose or power wash (seems like wiping down instead of spraying would be better?) - wipe down with micro-fiber cloth Right?

That is the correct process for subsequent applications. That is not the case with the first application. For the first application you simply spread/wipe off the product with a microfiber towel as you dry the car you do not rinse it off. This is all covered in this video. Take a couple mins to watch it again. As far as the glass it is fine of some gets on the glass, plastic, chrome, etc. while applying.

Sio2 isn’t required to be listed on an sds because it isn’t hazardous to humans in liquid form.

Any product with protective qualities which is used on top of Hybrid Ceramic Wax, you will see the water beading characteristics of the product used on top, and not that of Hybrid Ceramic Wax. So if Ultimate Quik Detailer is used, you will see the water beading characteristics of Ultimate Quik Detailer.

I just tried it today and don't spray your windows folks. The first layer will take some work. Plan on switching to a second clean microfiber. Then bam! awesome shine.

If you are having an issue with Hybrid Ceramic Wax, it almost definitely has to be too much product or not rinsing off thoroughly enough. Regarding windows, it will not damage windows, but is primarily designed for paint.

Is rinsing it off strictly necessary? I'd like as much of the product as possible on the car and not down the drain.

Assuming you have followed the directions related to initial application of the foundational layer you will then want to proceed following the directions for subsequent applications which does include rinsing. The rinsing (preferably with a strong spray/fan of water) is vitally important to spreading the product across the surface.

I also realize this makes application on wheels easier than wiping on and buffing off! Could you provide any further info on how the rinsing mechanism helps lay down additional coats on a microscopic level? You mention using a fan of water so I assume jets or sheets simply push the product off rather than disperse it. Someone mentioned on MOL that HCW does layer. Would you recommend against say if I were to lay down 5-6 consecutive coats on the same day?

I too feel the rinsing off of the product is a big waste of product. I know it's a new product with a new way to apply. For me I'll stick with tradicional waxes & sealants , they last long enough for me. My car's wax job beads water great, it slides right off.

Can you continue layering this product or will it build up to a point where it has to be stripped? How often do you recommend using this product?

Yes, unlike traditional waxes it does layer. How long it will last really depends on the environment your car is in. If your car is exposed to the elements quite a bit you could use it every few washes since it's so easy to use. If you are looking to do it as little as possible every few months would make sense. Again, this is highly relative to the exposure your car has to the typical elements that attack your finish.

I put it on first time today, I added a bunch to the shampoo bucket that already had mcguiars wax shampoo that yellow bottle, washed the car, dried it and then applied the hybrid ceramic wax with a wet applicator and buffed it out. The whole car wheels too. Looks good let's see how it hold

Mark Kropf hey, learn what an SDS sheet is before piggy backing off of DPC’s rampant claims. He’s mad because there is a product competing with his at a better price. SIO2 does not have to be listed on an SDS sheet as it is not hazardous in liquid form.

You could, but there is no reason to and if anything that would just make the process more difficult. You are both rinsing and drying either way.

I've applied it to a couple panels of my truck using a damp microfiber cloth sprayed with the product, then buffed it off with a dry microfiber cloth. Looking to see how it performs compared with my usual, NuFinish. I would expect a more uniform and better application this way, though more effort than intended

There are reasons for the directions we state on the bottle. We understand you may think you are finding a better way to apply it, but it was designed to be used according to the directions for best performance. If there was a better way, we would have stated it.

I have applied the first layer of product, per the bottle's instructions, to the rest of the truck and did observe smaller droplets formed on the vertical surfaces and a noticeably better shedding of water than with my method. Clearly, using a cloth to apply it is intriguingly less effective. However, my reason for the damp cloth trial is that I own a Mustang which never gets wet or washed and I wanted to see if I could still use this product on that for paint protection, shine and easy removal of dust and bugs after each trip. While the performance is indeed better per the OEM method, the solution does still work acceptably for me using my approach. I have driven the truck through several very heavy storms this week over several hundred miles and I'm impressed that the truck still looks shiny and clean, drying very quickly with very little "spotting", even on "my" panels. It's an awesome product indeed and the truck will be washed and waxed using the OEM application. I am looking forward to seeing how durable it is over the next few months.

"Should" might be too strong but if you are curious and love to try the newest technology you may want to consider picking up a bottle to try. It is some pretty cool/good stuff. Yes, you can use it on top of Ultimate Fast Finish or any other traditional wax or sealant. It actually performs quite well that way.

I did a different method with this. I washed the car down with soap and sprayed the spray while the car was wet, allowed it to sit for 30 seconds then wiped down with microfiber cloth. It seemed to leave little to no streaks and the car was glowing. (Used on a 2018 WRB WRX with Rain-X soap).

If you are referring to rubber moulding and plastic parts any of our vinyl and rubber dressings would work. You will probably just make your decision based on how much shine/gloss you want.

After a month it is still going strong and decent shine. However do *not* put this on your windshield or on the roof of your car where you have to rinse and flows on to the windshield, when you do the application. It will leave streaks when your wipers are on and its raining. Just avoid that issue that and you'll be fine.

So I assume if my truck is only a month old I really don’t need to clay bar the truck , I did wax it a few times but I should just start from the first step which is wash the vehicle spray some on and wipe it on with a microfiber towel then rinse is that correct ? Thanks great job explaining!!

Once you have washed and rinsed your vehicle, with the water still on the vehicle lightly mist the product and wipe dry. This would create a foundational layer then you can proceed to misting the product over water as a last step, rinse and dry as normal to maintain and boost your si02 protected vehicle.

once the surface is clean to the touch, you would need to wet the vehicle then mist the product over the water and wipe dry. We suggest using nothing more than 2-3 sprays per sectioned panel as over application of this product can lead to streaking. Anytime after that, you can mist the product over water then rinse the residual product off. 👍

i have already made the initial application. should i use it every time i get a carwash. i get a my car washed around 2-3x a wk. and will the car shampoo (not meguiars brand) strip of the product every time i get a carwash?

This is a long-lasting protection so there is no need to apply it that often. That being said some find it so easy to do during the washing process they do it much more frequently than required.

Using the Hybrid Ceramic Wash & Wax is a great way to maintain the protection and water beading after having applied the Hybrid Ceramic Wax. There is certainly no requirement that you use both every time you wash but that is fine if you choose to do so.

I use ultimate quik wax after every wash. I am about to use this ceramic wax for the 1st time. Is it worth still using the quik wax?

Ultimate Quik Wax in most cases will provide more gloss than our Hybrid Ceramic Wax, which mainly focuses on protection. However, which ever product you use last on your paint, you will see the water beading characteristics from that last product used. With that said, Hybrid Ceramic Wax would be recommended to be used last since the protection/water beading characteristics will be superior than UQW. If you are going to a car meet, etc. or any time you want to add gloss, Ultimate Quik Wax would be a better choice.

I'm happy with the product - I've given a new car a treatment with it and six months later its still beading water. I have a question though. My driveway drains into nearby landscaping and I was wondering if its harmful to bushes/shrubs. They seem fine after that runoff from last year, but I was wondering long term if its biodegradable. All products go through a rigorous toxicology review before launch to ensure they meet even the most strict government regulations. That being said we do not do testing on any number of plants, grasses, etc. so we could not verify its' impact on your landscaping.

If protecting the paint is the most important goal, can this product be the one and only product used on the car's paint? Or, is there a better schedule / combo to use? I'm lazy about waxing, so simple application is a benefit so that at least something is done and I work by hand (no buffer).

I currently use Ultimate Fast Finish. Would it make sense to pair UFF with Hybrid Ceramic Wax? If so, would I use UFF first then top it with HCW? I imagine I'd want the hydrophobic properties as the top layer, correct?

Dear, I have a product namely showroomshine that removes swirls. It is to say, the showroom spray does not remove them, but masks the swirls because after few washes they are back there. Now I was wondering because in your video you say that you may put the HCW on top of another coating and the hcw will lock up this coating. Now I'm reasoning if I apply the showroom spray and so mask the swirls and on top of that apply the HCW, then after few washes the swirls are not going to be back since the showroom spray is locked up. Or am I being too enthusiastic in my reasoning now. Thank you in advance for your response, regards Frederic

Although many polishes and waxes, including ours, will unintentionally cover minor defects we would always recommend you actually remove swirl marks and not simply hide them temporarily. This will typically require the use of an effective but safe compound like our Ultimate Compound.

used mine today think I put it on to thick left it dry and rinsed it later in the day left watermarks everywhere but no water beading effect . ill try rinsing it off some more think it on too thick lol probably should have put it on a wet car.

You could if you choose but the optimal process would be to use the Ultimate Liquid Wax first and then follow/top with the new Hybrid Ceramic Wax. Also understand you are going to lose some of the effects and benefits of the Hybrid Ceramic Wax if you put another wax on top of it.

Hey! So if I were to do the 2 step microfiber system should I just use the compound and use this ceramic wax instead of the carnauba wax in the 2 step system if I want better water repellent and the self cleaning help or should I still polish with the 2 step wax and add the ceramic coating on top????

If the finish is where you want it to be after compounding you certainly could go right to the ceramic wax. If you have fine marks left after compounding that need to be removed/refined you may need to use the Microfiber Finishing Wax. If that is the case you could then follow with the Hybrid Ceramic Wax for added protection and water beading.
