My daughter and I would go to Starbucks every Saturday when we did our shopping. In light of Starbucks' bad decisions and policies, we haven't been there in over a year now. Dunking Donuts now supplies our coffee addictionand. It is cheaper and just as good, even better. Go Woke, Go Broke.

I remember when Starbucks changed its “customer only” bathroom policy”. It was because of a BLM uproar caused when one store denied two black men use of their bathroom without buying something. The accusation, of course was “raci$m”. The men were presumably waiting for friend, but frankly could have made a purchase while waiting, so I had no sympathy at the time, and have none now.

Spot on…I just wish you’d pointed out that the “open bathroom” policy didn’t come out of nowhere, it arose out of Starbucks caving to the wokers after a 2018 incident in Philadelphia where a Starbucks manager asked two black guys who hadn’t bought anything to leave. There was the inevitable huge uproar and accusations of racism, then Schultz caved and said anyone could use the bathrooms regardless. Starbucks has reaped what it has sown, and besides, their coffee sucks.

In L.A. area as soon as Starbucks opens at 5am its a mad rush of homeless people rushing into the store with all their luggage and carts hopping into all the seats where they remain until closing. So regular customers don't have anywhere to sit and you have to navigate around all the personal belongings (carts and luggage) of the homeless. It's like skid row inside Starbucks. And, staff can't say anything. Now, they finally are closing. Lol

Compassion is not giving in to people who encroach on your business or property. These homeless people (most of them) have made choices that led them to their unfortunate circumstances. Most of them are drug addicts and some are mentally ill both chose not to seek help or took that first line or needle we did not make them or force them to do it. It we keep giving in to their demands and begging etc. with no consequences for them they will multiply and make things MUCH worse.

I worked for Starbucks when I first graduated from college and this was years ago (I’m not sure of the policy at the time) but my location regularly had homeless people coming in. One time a guy who was homeless and on drugs started stalking me and the cops had to get involved. Management wasn’t doing anything and the cops can only do so much so my dad would come to the store just to make sure he didn’t try anything since he hadn’t been officially banned by the company. Thankfully police ended up taking the guy in and getting him the help he needed. But the experience really sucked for me. These CEOS try to virtue signal without dealing w the consequences of their woke policies. The staff has to deal w it and many of them are young people / teenagers or just out of college. They shouldn’t have to handle these situations. Glad they ended up reversing this policy

Well, in areas where these bathrooms are being used for shooting up drugs and sex trade, you wouldn’t want to go in there in the first place. If it’s that big of a problem that you can’t time your outings and get back home without a bathroom, you might need other options. I’m not being rude. Just that the whole world can’t cave to adjust to a few at the cost to everyone. Life isn’t always perfect and fair. Those employees that are there for hours, have to deal with unsafe conditions just go to the bathroom and continue working.

I remember well when the CEO of Starbucks said publicly that if you believe that marriage is only between one woman and one man then you are not welcome in our places of business. Who calculated how many customers that drove away? I am amazed at the number of companies that are willing to lose droves of customers just to push some woke ideology. I don't need to mention the growing list starting with Disney, Coke, ESPN, pretty much all professional sports. The list is getting longer. They may want communism or socialism or whatever -ism they think would be good, but potential customers can still vote with their feet, and internet purchases. And are doing it. Now they are not only losing customers, they are losing well trained reliable employees. Nothing like old fashioned karma.

The situation with drug addicts who, sometimes as a result of drugs, are also mentally ill is that when you let them in a space they then take ownership of that space. They are not generally humble and are only polite (if at all) until they get what they wanted and will become fierce when something is taken away (in their eyes you are taking everything.)

Just spent two weeks in Utah, the town I stayed in has two homeless shelters, there are no homeless people on the streets, if a homeless person is spotted the police are there within 2 hours, they give the homeless person the option to either go to the shelter or move on.no loitering allowed.

The one who said "it's compassionate" - does *she* let homeless people in her home? That would be "compassionate". Although I don't drink coffee, I would never go to Starbucks now. This garbage has gotten so out of hand - and we are suffering the consequences for it now. Remember: allowing this nonsense - is "endorsing" it. Remember: most homeless (not _all_ , but the vast majority) have addiction problems, or mental health issues. They should be in counselling, not Starbucks!

Strangely, one of the locations shutting down is on the grounds of the DoubleTree Hilton hotel in downtown Los Angeles. The hotel is not shutting down. Does this mean the hotel has no concern for their paying guests and employees? The Starbucks baristas have one advantage over the hotel employees. They have superheated coffee on hand to use against any criminals or rowdy homeless.

I believe this week In BC a father was stabbed to death in front of his wife and child at Starbucks. And someone was just recording it, not calling for help, or even seeing if he was ok. Im not sure if this policy has anytjkng to do with the Canadian locations, but this makes a heck of a lot of sense now if Canada Starbucks has those policies.

And that's another result of Trudeau and his minions working so hard and taking away our guns. Oh, and making self-defence illegal unless your life was in absolute jeopardy, with the onus to prove it being solely on you. Meanwhile, privileged-since-conception Trudeau travels with a 40-plus security team of police and plain clothes undercover costing taxpayers...wait for it...$5 million PER MONTH. There is a recent video of him crossing the street from the House of Commons (read that as Congress for our southern cousins) with most of his protection detail in plain view. Perhaps he was crossing the street to go to a Starbucks. Idk.

Almost as bad as the homeless are the students taking over entire tables with books, computers, coats and belongings so that no other customers can sit down. I can't count the amount of times I've not purchased in Starbucks because of students, people sitting on their phone plugged in and not buying anything and taking up the entire space.

A couple years back, I had a meeting at Starbucks. Someone tied up a bathroom for a long time. Finally a dude walked out. The door closed and it was still locked. After a few minutes, I took a picture of another dude walking out. He was outraged and asked me if I took a picture of him. He was rattled. I didn’t even answer him. Unafraid, I didn’t even answer him, and he left the store with no satisfaction. At least from me.

That's part of the plan. Let chaos turn into anarchy. Then the Leftists declare Martial Law and move right in, as conquering heroes and saviors, one and all. And once in possession of dictatorial powers they will never give them up. Declaring emergency after emergency, inventing problems after problems that never existed before or that no one ever saw or were able to prove with unbiased science (like man-made Global Warming) they will continue to justify their hold on power. Remember that your rights don't apply under Martial Law, making it the Leftists' wet dream.
