As a Northeast Indian, I experience all those things he does too! I always have to have my adhar card handy to prove my identify, plus the autowalas and cab drivers always try to talk to me in English even when I legit speak in hindi with them 🤣

So I am an Afghan Canadian who grew up watching Bollywood movies from the 90s. First time I came across jaime’s channel was through that music video and my jaws just dropped at how a gora cloud be so dedicated to Bollywood. I commented on how he was an indian at heart, not knowing his was Tom alter’s son and an actual Indian. 😂

I had once an opportunity to meet Tom Alter somewhere around 1980 when he had already passed out from Film institute, Pune. He was with his two friends, Raza Murad and Rahul Sengar. He was very gentle and humble. I see his shades in Jamie. We all want to see more of you. Keep up the good work. God bless you both.👍

You have your father’s eyes. Soon as I saw your name, 1st thing that struck to me is that, this guy is Tom Alter’s son. In this video, soon as I hit the down arrow button, it was confirmed that you are Tom Alter’s son. Your father was a cool actor. Even though he played mostly villain roles in movies, I loved the way he spoke Hindi. Cool Hindi, he spoke and like yourself Jamie, he spoke very eloquently, a very elegant and exquisite Hindi. I was in Indian till the age of 14 then went overseas: 4 years in UK and the rest in the United States. My Hindi now is a little of what I remember when I was 14 and the rest watching Hindi movies. It is people like yourself, your father and anyone whom speaks Hindi with such grace that inspires me to take Hindi language classes, to express myself eloquently too. I pickup foreign languages fast. Hindi is my national language too and learning it again to communicate better, will be a breeze .

In spite of all the comments and sometimes negativity about his color and identity he takes it all in his stride which is a quality of a true gentleman. He is a great person at heart. Believe me its not just "gora" prejudice. I'm a south indian from Bangalore n I speak hindi quite fluently without any southie accent. Many of my well educated north indian collegues have asked me same question when they hear me speak fluent 'delhi-wala' like hindi which they've asked Jamie i.e. "Aapko itni ACHCHI hindi kaisi aati hai?" India is such a versatile country with so much cultural variety that one indian from north finds difficult to believe another indian from south can speak better hindi than them.

M’am, you don’t need to explain anything. All you need to ever say is that Jamie is the son of Tom Alter - the legend. I have been a big fan of Jamie’s father, his class and command over language. My eyes well up with tears when I realize that he is no more with us in person.
