well without him, greb wouldn't be like this , Bonham did simple things but they were very new at the time

Try to play Moby Dick like Bonham and you will see if he was overated!And moon was only a rock n'roll drummer and a great showman!But these guys made music history!Benny Greb will never do!

I view John Bonham in the same way that I view Ringo and Stewart Copeland, which is that they are not revolutionary by today's standards but they were revolutionary at the time, it's just that drummers today have borrowed so much from Bonham, Ringo and Copeland that we have forgotten who we're actually borrowing it from.

C. Doom Schneider give a look to some of his interviews or his whole approach of « the language of drumming » and you’ll understand who he is given so much praise amongst the drumming world. He sure is not as « choppy » as someone like Eric Moore or Aaron Spears (even if I’m pretty sure he’d have the technical ability to do so), or not as fast as someone like Mike Mangini but the man’s got groove for years. Not even mentioning that he is always playing for the song, as it can be seen here. Never overplaying but never boring, his drumming is always interesting. He is as well one of the best clinicians/ educators in the world. So no, he’s not overrated

John Doe To me it's polite and fair. These guys put time and effort to go and play with this guy and they should be recognized further as well. I totally get that this is Benny's gig and what not but that doesn't mean that they can't recognize the other players as well.
