What is is MEIOSIS (animated explanation) : diploid (2n), one parent cell -- produces (meiosis) -- haploid (1n), four daughter cells; gametes: egg, sperm. meiosis phases: prophase I (dna replication (with helicase, dna polymerase), chromosome condensation, pairing, synapsis, crossing over recombination, allele genes-), metaphase I (homologous chromosomes -tetrad, four chromatids, sister chromatids alignment), anaphase I (separating homologous chromosomes, with spindle and centriole), telophase I(cytokinesis), prophase II(no dna replication), metaphase II (chromosomes alignment), anaphase II (separating sister chromatids), telophase II (and last cytokinesis).
