@@smokey1058 I have been allergic to all animal hair since I was born and we have had 7 cats 1 dog 6 gerbils and I have loved all of them. Tho I don't know about other people who are allergic to animal, but I usually get allergic reaction when I first meet the animal but after couple of days my symptoms go almost fully away.

It was more of my grandma she didn't like animals actually but then she met a stray cat who we unofficially adopted coz the cat could leave but went back when she was hungry and my grandma was the one who always left food out for her

Cost 2. Cleaning after the cat 3. Taking care of the cat till he/she passes on 4. Medical bills 5. Modeling the home for the cat 6. How to alter travelling plans to ensure your cat won't be alone It's very easy to say "I hate cats!" Granted, there are legitimate cat haters, but that's what I learnt when I became an adult and did want to get a cat. Look at those assholes who got the cat then abandoned it because they simply can't handle the responsibility.

@@Aetolus damn that's actually true. My father absolutely did not want another cat since he already kinda didn't like our first one and thought about the cost of taking care of a cat. But then mom one day came home with a box and inside was a cute tiny little white kitten. She showed my dad and the moment he looked at her, the little kitten meowed. He was like "Aww shit." He couldn't say no to that cute noise. 😂 That kitten was the sweetest kitty we ever had. But sadly we lost her at 14 years old recently last month. We tried our absolute best to save her, but the doctor said there's not much else we can do since trying to prolong her death meant more suffering for her and more money down the drain. So we let her go and cross the rainbow... He tries not to talk about it and gets upset when we do, but I know it's because he really misses her like we do. 😟

They are honestly quite simple to understand. You just can’t treat them like dogs. It really frustrates me when people say they’re so confusing. It takes such a small amount of time to learn their basic body language, then you can easily understand them

This was my dad with our dog! Hated dogs, only ever allowed us to own cats growing up. My mom loved dogs. I got in a bad car crash and used it as guilt for him to get a small dog. He talked crap about her everyday. Got so mad when she had accidents or barked. Now if she has a accident it's all "oh no, you dont feel good? What's wrong" & purposely gets her barking pointing out rabbits on the lawn lol. I cant even have her a full day without getting texts like "hows my dog" "when are you bringing my dog back" lol

Cats have oil glands in their foreheads & back, so when they rub against something they're using their scent/oils to "mark their territory". :) So the cat rubbing its head or back on you is them telling you that you're part of their clan/family. :D They're letting other cats & animals know this, too, as the others can smell it. (Also, dogs "mark their territory" when they pee on things! lol)

I've seen this with my mom's boyfriends. One of my mom's boyfriends didn't have any objections when my mom got me a kitten for my birthday ages ago (back when I was a teen). I named the calico kitten Spicy. What I was not expecting was him to then bring home a gorgeous white Siamese mix, putting her down and declaring "Sugar is better than spice!" And so we had Sugar and Spicy, lol. I'm sure my mom was the one to facilitate getting the second kitten (she was older than Spicy though), but I wasn't expecting him to be so gung-ho about the cat.

That's how it goes! Unless it's someone truly scared of the pet (which I HATE having people like that over. I usually have dogs, they need to socialize and it sucks putting a dog away because they cry and scratch constantly at the door. I'd rather the person just not come over). Otherwise, people act like they don't like a pet but often when the pet either shuns them back, they become offended, or the pet shows love and they realize they actually do like them.

My cat would headbutt anyone that came in the house - He loved people so much and always wanted pets and scritches. One time, my brother-in-law came to visit and my cat went to headbutt him, but my BIL is allergic and stepped away. I've never seen a more heartbroken expression on a cat before.

I had the exact same experience with my mom when I got my first and only cat. She always said she's allergic to cats and we can't keep one and finally someday I told here we're having a cat, I don't care, and in the end she loved her as much as I did, as if not more. She kept her close and even allowed the cat to sleep with her in the bed. Cats are amazing.
