But what is the concept and context of this verse? It never says "THE son of man" it says "LIKE A son of man" and not only do Chrxstians mistranslate this verse, their bible writes "a Son of man." They capitalize it. Theres no capital letters in Hebrew.. But more importantly in Numbers 23 it says "G-d is not a man nor is he a (son of man)". So how can you justify calling jesus the "son of man" and calling him "G-d" too? Mel Gibson/Colbert claim in the video above that jesus decended into hell, but in the New Testament in Luke 23:43 it says jesus told one of the other men also being crucified "i tell you, surely you will be with me (TODAY) in PARADISE" is Hell Paradise? I know it has its critics but it is very true to the New Testament, specifically the books of John and Matthew from what Gibson said back in 2004. It was a very realistic movie and very well made, but he should have toned down the violence. I've never been able to watch it a second time. There were some scenes in the movie not from the Bible, but I'll give him a pass on that. One thing is for sure, once you've seen it you'll never forget it.

Then he picks up another type of whip that has pieces of metal. He then proceeds to smack the whip against a wooden table and struggles a bit to pull out the whip as it gouges the wood. Now as a viewer we know what this particular whip will do to human flesh based on the damage it did to the table. Then we see exactly what it did several times to Christ's back. That was totally unnecessary. We didn't need to see it. We could imagine what it did.
