It’s honestly so sad that this woman doesn’t have a Grammy yet she’s literally on two tours, making music videos for every song on the portals album, promoting her Perfumes and still trying to get the budget for a film, she’s literally doing what most main stream artists aren’t even trying to do and it’s sad that she doesn’t have at least one award for what she’s doing.

So, when she sings VOID, the song right before this on her album, she sings about being tangled up in her own intestines. And this video starts with her falling (possibly out of the void) with the intestines still wrapped around her. Bravo, Miss Melanie. Genius to link it all together. From the Death video, straight into the void video, and now with tunnel vision. And songs 1, 2, 3 on her album. This is perfection!

I love how she represents herself like a video game. She’s showing how people think they can just push her buttons and do whatever they want, forgetting she’s a real person with feelings. She is making a representation of how people think they can control her, and also all the shit she’s been through. And when the person in the last bit gets a game over its representing that people online can be so cruel.

tunnel vision is all about being manipulated, and that is what melanie perfectly portrayed in this music video - the whole time, she’s being told what to do, and everything good that happens is taken away like “fill their cup, take it away” or “give them flowers, take it away” and then the reference to crybaby and the tears fill up the room is reflecting on how hard it is to put up with the pressure of doing everything right and making she no one is upset, yet still, people will “call them a bitch for being human.”

The part where it says “call them a b for being human” really touched me. Once celebrities set boundaries their fans get upset even though celebrities are also humans and have the right to express their emotions and speak up when they feel uncomfortable with certain things. I love this so much. I love the ending how it seems like she is representing someone trying to control how she lives from behind a screen. It's so accurate from the behavior of her trolls and "fans". She is so beautiful and strong and I love everything she does for us. She deserves better.

LITERALLY, at the end of the mv the setting was an entirely different aesthetic, the video game format illustrates how Melanie’s “fans” are trying to pressure her into reverting back to her Crybaby/K-12 aesthetic, which clearly doesn’t work. Mel shows that she is confident in her new style by breaking the gaming system. I LOVE THIS

the theme really struck me because it was really just an interpretation of the lives of celebrities. their lives are like a video game where fans control them and this mv really brought that message out really well. after i watched the video, i had a feeling that melanie wanted this to be a sister video to show and tell. someone else in the comments had the same thought as me in the "call them a b***h for being human" as fans hate on famous people for having feelings.

A lot of people were really unhappy with the portals album too because they couldn't take the sudden change in like.. aesthetics? theme?? It's not all cutesy and pastel and weird it's dark and it's raw and it's a big change from K-12 if not something completely on a new level. I definitely agree with this statement though. This music video is so cool, the portals mvs just keep getting better. I loved the video game aesthetic and how the hearts she sent people are in the music video and create a story. I also liked how the little girl at the end represents the childish fans and internet users who choose to do everything that the heart stones say. The vibes and visual effects are amazing and so high quality. This mv made me realize that tunnel vision is about the general public objectifying Melanie rather than just men in her life. It's directed toward people who only see her as a celebrity or a sex doll rather than an actual human.

I have a theory. Why do Crybaby’s upper eyes look somewhere off into the distance and squint a little? Perhaps the first eyes (these are the real ones) see matter, look AT the object, but the upper eyes (the second, or new ones) look THROUGH object, so, with additional eyes, she is able to see what the lower pair of eyes cannot see. For example, the souls of those who have not yet been reborn, or something like this. Since Crybaby is now a nymph (and nymphs are mythical creatures), she has the ability to look through matter, to see something invisible. But that's just my theory (I WRITE THROUGH TRANSLATOR)

When analyzing the clip, we can see that it is about the criticism and positive comments that her "fans" made about her appearance and her new style. Throughout the MV we notice small hearts that appear on the screen as everything progresses, as if they were stages in a game. In each heart there are different phrases that the player dictated during the game, as if he wanted to have control of the main character and do whatever he sees fit. Example: "Saying she's demonic." Many fans judged her due to her recent new look. Making unnecessary jokes and even stopping following along. "Give her long hair." After Melanie cut her hair, many fans didn't like it and again judged her for it. "Make her thin and tall." Some fans even made cruel jokes about her weight (Trying to import a standard that they thought was better.) "Make her smile all the time." Maybe this is because she no longer performs her shows without her mask. "Chase her to take a picture." Many people took photos and even went so far as to chase her to get a photograph, which made her uncomfortable. "You made me very upset." Your disappointment with the fans. In the end, the game ends after the player doesn't get what they wanted. However, you can see that the clip is about how far Melanie has gone before her career. The comments, judgments made frustrated and discouraged with their own success. This is a great analytical review of the video but we should remember that these songs were written long before she even released her creature appearance to us. One of my favorite thing about Melanie is the multiple ways her music can be interpreted. But I do think she often references his the fans and the industry expect so much from her and give nothing in return. Like show and tell and numbers
