Hi Steve and Michelle! Thanks for the lovely tour. Where I live, I know there’s a botanical garden that’s part of a zoo. I don’t think I’ve actually been to it but you’ve sparked my curiosity to check out my own version of it. Have a great day and stay safe.

Yesterday in Chicago it was -30° C. although today we're a balmy -5 C. and expected to be even much warmer tomorrow. Chicago's Botanic Garden is a somewhat different arrangement. It's owned by the Forest Preserve Department of Cook County, not the City. It is operated by The Chicago Horticultural Society, a private organization, so it is a public-private partnership. Relatively young, I can remember the original construction of the gardens 40 years ago when I lived up on the North Shore. One of best known in the US is the Brooklyn Botanic Garden although I have unfortunately never been to visit. Chicago does have both the Garfield Park and Lincoln Park Conservatories, which are ideal places to get a little of the tropics or even temperate climate during the dark and cold winter months. Thanks for the trip to Melbourne's gardens, and for teaching me what a larrikin is. While looking the word up, I also learned what a "wowser" is.

Balmy indeed, LOL.. Wowser Wowser.. There is a new word for me Milan. Many of these words came from old English terms that fell out of fashion, or found there own variations, I do love Larrikin, we have both the word and many examples here in Oz LOL..

Thank you for sharing the lovely ❤️ gardens with us. I declare them as a nessary cost for the survival of the species and our own. As that, they harbor seed that may be needed. One such specie was an old fashioned moss. It was supposed to have died out during the Dust Bowl years. One day, almost 40 years ago, we found some growing in our native grass patch. We collected one out of three, that we found. We potted them. We fed them livestock manure tea, until they flowered. They dropped a load of seeds for their size. We kept a sack of them for whoever admired them, when at the office they ordered fuel or paid a bill. They did spread! I work on a sizeable military installation, and I find them around 40-50 miles from where I first seen one. Maybe birds helped. Take care from Oklahoma, Mike and Vee

Absolutely beautiful there, & Yes these gardens must be preserved, especially in the Cities, they are the Cities lungs. I didn't spot any drop bears though, do they hide in caves when it's that hot.? We've got snow & icy winds here, soon be Spring. Lol. Thanks for sharing, & take care you two. 💖🙂🐶

@@Steve-Owens This is the best time Steve. The weather is absolutely beautiful now, through out the country. In North India, it's very cold, but it shouldn't be a problem for you, you're a well traveled person. North, north east, Kerala, Goa, Ooty in South ( you must travel by mountain rail), Kodai Kanal . It's beautiful everywhere. Avoid summers. They are very harsh, especially in North. But hill stations are cool. Welcome to India 😊🌷Nice to know , that your sisters name resembles mine 😊

@@Steve-Owens Autumn would be just after monsoon here. ( After September) it's warm, but bearable. South would be good just after Autumn. N North would be great after December ( bit cold). A tip here, most of the important exams are held in Feb n March, so to avoid local tourists crowd, Jan, Feb n March are the best months. 😊 Hope to see you here. Best wishes 🌷

@@Steve-Owens oh no! Lol looks like the rain beat you to the doorstep Steve! After that heat wave you both have been experiencing hope the rain can cool things down. 46.1°c wow a scorcher!! You could fry and egg in the pan with that. Omg!! Wouldn't even last 30 minutes it'll be brutal on the skin plenty on sunscreen. I really don't go out much on the sun tbh. Only if I need to but going to be a trooper and brave it

Yes worrying Boddah.. 🌞 The ozone that is, though I should add, that we do have a good Ozone, that worry was long averted Boddah, the issue is too much sun.. If that can be a bad thing :o)
