English - A Daytime drivers view of route 48 from Victoria Harbour Docklands to North Balwyn via Collins St City, Wellington Parade East Melbourne, Bridge Road Richmond and High St Kew. Filmed in an A class.

Another good one! The out-of-synch audio just made it more interesting. ;-) I liked seeing the trees in full leaf - they give the city a friendly feeling. I'm impressed with your knowledge of the details of every stop of all the routes you have videoed.

Good one, Brendan. Nice to catch up on my old town again, even if it is 6,000 km away. Btw, there was talk of extending this line out to Doncaster Shopping town, and the Glen Iris line out to Ashburton ( amongst others ) Any word on any of that?

That's the same as extending the 59 from Airport West tonight Gladstone Park. It's not going to happen anytime soon. Check out the route 11 if you haven't done so already.

It's a 25 second gap between the audio (which is ahead) and the video. I ended up having the video run twice (one muted) and used the audio from the other.

There's definitely an audio sync issue. For example, go to 42:10, watch the opposite-direction pass silently, and then wait to hear the audio ~30 seconds later.

What's that rumbly noise at 50:15 to 50:25 ish? Sounds like an engine turning over but not starting. I've heard it in the background in many tram videos.

The noise was the doors opening and closing , the audio was about 25 seconds out . It was unusual to hear the doors opening and closing when tram was moving .

Sound needs to be synchronized. Doors opening and closing while moving. Particularly bad in last half.

I would say the 48 in front was a late running tram.

Nice video. Unfortunately the sound is out of synch with the video. Seems the sound lags the video by at least 20 seconds.

how fast are these trams?

60 is the speed limit for trams across the network. Some can go a bit faster but that's not advisable.

Are the A class the single units or the articulated double units?

The A class and Z3 class trams are single car units with two bogeys underneath. The B2 tram is articulated with 3 bogeys.

Also at the end, while waiting for tram to come out of terminus, you can here the wheels of the tram rolling, and when the tram leaves, and you roll in to terminus, you can hear a 'Ding Ding' of the tram's bell, like you do when you are pulling away from a stop, and you can hear yourself talking to someone getting off the tram, but the traffic in the video is still speeding past.
