If one were to fuse the feeling of British Rock music legend Steve Winwood's 1986 classic "Higher Love" with a straight-up declaration of God's greatness, one would have power vocalist Melissa Bethea's new cut, "Awesome." The Jersey girl who now lives in Houston takes us to a Kingston, Jamaica street corner for this fun, upbeat burst of percussive praise that was birthed by producer Clarence Singleton who is known for his production work with gospel mainstays Hezekiah Walker and Marvin Sapp. He then fleshed it out with help from his production partner, Eric Davis (who's co-written numerous JJ Hairston & Youthful Praise hits), and Makeba Riddick-Woods (who’s written mega Pop hits for the likes of Rihanna, Toni Braxton, and Jennifer Lopez). It's a soulful, commercial, Pop-flavored track that just may inspire warm-weather praise aerobics on beaches, in parks, and any place where people just might be dancing in the streets. The video was shot on location in Atlanta, Georgia.
