@@iarshintasudjana4382 Yes, because that was the character in the TV series. Mary should be the feminine and pretty older sister of the tomboyish Laura. Laura was the feisty character who would bloom into a pretty version of herself as she got older. Well Melissa Sue Anderson is prettier than Melissa Gilbert, although Melissa Gilbert was pretty in her own way until she botched herself with all those surgeries. Melissa Sue Anderson still looks pretty as an older version of herself.

Love miss. Anderson!!!! I knew miss Anderson back in the 70s!!! Miss. Anderson was friends with my older sister Joan....the good old days we all hang out at Eddie gay dance studio,this man look just like Fred Astaire!!!!!! Any ways miss. Anderson was a good little dancer,,and her mother Marian was a real good mom, not a stage mom at all.....we all lived i n woodland hills ,.....when miss Anderson got the part of Mary on little house we all knew miss. Anderson was on her way to something big!!! I saw every show of little house and miss Anderson was , an is a great actress!! We hope she will do more TV we miss seeing her on TV!!!!!

sambda She has spoken about that, and said she was a very shy and serious kid from a normal family, unlike Melissa Gilbert and Allison Arngrim who came from very much showbiz families. Shyness can often be mistaken for being snobby or aloof. Arngrim even said Melissa Anderson’s mother was “controlling” as if that might be why MSA was “no fun.” But if you think about it, this was probably just your average mom, with no showbiz experience, trying to make sure her kid was safe. It’s possible Arngrim and Gilbert misread the situation as kids.

@@embeth446 Both Arngrim & Gilbert struck me as very grown-up for their ages according to their respective autobiographies. They both also came from Hollywood families with more permissive parenting. Anderson's upbringing seemed more reserved and perhaps more traditional which may have been offputting to Allison and Melissa G. I think Anderson also mentioned that hers was a strict Catholic upbringing which she didn't rebel against until a bit later. I can relate to Anderson's upbringing & frankly it just seemed as if she had more class than Arngrim & Gilbert particularly. Everybody has their story, but Anderson's certainly wasn't a tell-all book. She's been married to the same man for many years, has now nearly if not completely grown-up children & seemed to have eschewed the typical Hollywood lifestyle. It that's aloof then count me in.

That's up tl the production company. The DVD release of love boat was extremely underwhelming. It only had the guest star list but no story synopsis just as bad as get smart. If you want to find Fred Grandy's last episode, or Captain Steubing getting remarried, good luck.
