Have to disagree with this. If someone has gone to the hassle of creating a fake bottle, it's pretty easy to put a legit batch code on the bottom.

This doesn’t check if it’s real or fake, it can only check if the batch number exists. If the fake uses an existing number, it will give you a verified check with a date.

Been in perfume for 25 yrs, and believr me after year 2000 they used 1 authentic batch code for / serial numbers for multiple bottles

You’re spreading nonsense. What’s stopping someone from going in a fragrance store and taking a photo of the batch code of the tester (or the box because the box also has it) and using that on their fake product. I agree some absolutely terrible fake’s probably dont have them, but with those people are usually aware that they’re buying a fake product. The problem is the really good ones with a good box, bottle and batch code. The only thing that will be a sure tell sign is the smell. If you think you got something fake get a sample from someone you know is legit or even better try it in store and compere it with yours.

Unfortunately anyone can create fakes and slap a legit batch code on it from a legit bottle to make it seem real.

The batch code is meaningless unless there is none on the bottle or the code structure is obviously wrong. They can easily be faked. The best way to tell a counterfeit is to pull the nozzle cap off and compare the entire atomizer assembly to a bottle with a similar batch date that was purchased from an authorized retailer.

To check batch code need to buy and open it. After buying what is the point to check whether it's original or fake. We need to confirm it before buying

There is a guy on YT showing a lot of designer drags (FAKE VS REAL). There are a lot factors that play here and batch codes certainly do not provide the confirmation to a 100%.

Got a fake Haltane with the batch code being legit. I could barely tell by comparison with my authentic carlisle. The dead give away was the scent of Haltane and how it sprayed

No, batch codes doesn’t prove the authenticity of the fragrance. There are many areas that a counterfeited product could go wrong. The common mistakes that the counterfeits have are the font thickness, colour gradient in Dior Sauvage and the box of the bottle

Good info but counterfeiters are starting to take batch codes off of authentic bottles and put them on fake bottles so it’s really not a solid way of know your bottle is authentic.

Wrong people are actually copying current legit batch codes and putting them on the box and bottle just like the legit version. It’s as a simple as buying a legit bottle and putting that same code on several bottles . Who would know that that batch code was on serval fake bottles ? They are getting slick with the dupes these days . Just be aware this isn’t a sure way of checking legitimacy.

My batch code doesnt read so its gotta be fake. I checked another video with the box of fakes vs real and the box is legit unless they have upped the game. The batch code on the box is embedded and same on bottle
