Made this today for our Greek friend and husband who came to lunch today and it was fantastic: she was so impressed. We had it for lunch with couscous salad, humous, feta and olives plus lots of oil to soak into the bread. Thank you so much for this recipe.

The best çörek recipe. Got this down to a science and bake a couple every week. Definitely beats TFC. Thanks for sharing x

I don’t have a Yaşar or TFC near me (I’m up in the Midlands) and I really miss çörek. I’m definitely going to give this recipe a try, Thanks!

I’m also in the midlands so don’t have any decent Turkish supermarkets near, if you are anywhere near Westbrom though I can recommend a supermarket you can get Turkish ingredients 😊

Very nice, thank you. I've have long wanted to make this at home but this is the first recipe I've seen that uses metric quantities! All those 'bardaks' of flour and water make no sense to me. I have seen some recipes that call for mastic gum. What do you think?

I tried the recipe and it came out well, accept the bread is heavy. I used Tescos Finest Very Strong Bread Flour, the bread came out brown too. What am I doing wrong, how can I make the bread lighter in weight?

Turkish Cypriot??? This is SO Greek :) sorry to say....but this is SO Greek/Greek Cypriot :)
@yoncaalman63172 жыл бұрын
Sorry you are soo wrong, check your facts before making a statement like that, this bread is a Cypriot bread traditional cooked by both communites, by the way just so you know sorry to say .......
@fatdelgado39003 ай бұрын
And it couldn’t be Cypriot even the bread needs to be Greek or Turkish 😂

@@fatdelgado3900 You have the Luxury to laugh.....so, please go ahead and laugh....Wait until the Turks Take Over YOUR Country..and then we speak again. We are very tired of the hypocricy of the West who think they know beetr than us as to what Cyprus is....Cyprus has been Greek since ancient times - the fact that it has been occupied and many attempted to convert it to their liking, does not change the fact that it is Greek. Latest occupiers of course the Turks. Before that the Brits, etc...But we know our Roots and WHO we are. We Don't need external people to tell us WHO we are.
