That is a very productive farm that Geraldine has. As MJ was picking the mangoes off the tree, all I could think of was when she was in Palawan and 'someone' was shouting "she's stealing mangoes"

Dragon fruit plant is a cactus and takes one year to bear fruit. That's the reason it's so expensive. 😊

MJ I feel that you should consider building sis and family an addition to their house and to yours too. I’d also suggest fixing their ceiling with insulation etc. and at a minimum add more rooms or generally enlarge their house and finish it off with insulation and a/c etc And as I previously mentioned , I suggest that you also add more rooms to your house either instead or as well as….. I can’t do a rebuild to my house in Vancouver because I am not rich enough. To rebuild would cost us 72 million pesos approximately thanks

Meljean, buko is healthy as it is. There is no need to add condensed milk, which is just added sugar. As long as it is cold, it is so quenching.

@@32505a friend of mine subs coconut milk. Both high caloric, but she reasons that coconut milk is inherently healthier. I don’t make it anymore, but I like to indulge a little when she brings it to parties 😋

A big farm of mango, guava, coconut trees, dragon fruit cacti, watermelons, other fruits and vegetables, and a fishery of tilapia, I like to own or work there. Or just buy the fruits, vegetables, and fish.

You can also visit India, we have some amazing trees and produces here as well😌 speecially a 50 pillars dragon fruit orchard and 610 trees mango orchard, a coconut garden and different types of vegetables

I love, love this episode! Thank you for showing us Ate Geraldine’s place. Thanks also, Ate G! I really have to look for a land there with all the fruits and trees. She should have tried propagating the wine grapes so she can test how the local wine would taste there - as what the French said, wine is all about “terroir”! The dragon fruit amazes me so with the Indian mangoes and Apple mangoes. Did u put the Indian mangoes in your Buko salad since they are not sour, unlike the regular mangoes? Oh no, you forgot the night skin care! Maybe next time! A BIG THANKS!

The dragon fruit plant looks like some type of cactus. All cactus are succulents like the dragon fruit.

It is a cactus and trust me they are amazing. We have a 50 pillars dragon fruit orchard and the harvest season is the best, sometimes we harvest like 50-60 kgs 🥹

True, but I don’t think she never liked being kissed except by her momma. My take is she doesn’t want lipstick on her cheek (her momma seldom wears lipstick) or wet kisses. It’s hot in the Philippines. Everybody perspires. lol

They’re also very expensive and difficult to find here in the US, even though they’re grown in FL, CA and HI, I think, maybe because of unpredictable and extreme weather. Then, too, their shelf life is very short

Agreed. Almost 50% of it is added sugar. Fun fact: buko salad is the “recipe child” of the delish ambrosia salad of the Midwestern and Southern parts of the US, which might have originated in Mexico 😋

Just use the word, 'PICK' the fruit rather than 'Harvest'. Most English speaking countries use the word pick or picking fruit off trees. Makes it easy for you.

@@lakkanabutler1171 I grew up in the Philippines and had encounters with little ones and medium ones ~ and a very large and long python that, as a curious little girl, I gingerly and innocently approached, thinking it was already dead, as the entire length of its body was unmoving, its eyes closed shut. But, lo, as I neared the massively built reptile, it opened its eyes and mouth, startling me. I don’t remember anything after that. I must have shrieked in fear and scooped up by my grandfather out of there. Eeeek! 😬
