With Numbers, Mellowhype manages to churn out a few decent beats, but the lyrical content and originality are more lacking than ever. It seems making an interesting hip hop record is not in Mellowhype's career itinerary. Instead, portraying the forgettable fantasies of that "cool kid with a c average" is more important.

Why didn't he talk about P2? I thought that track was great. It strayed away from the other monotonous themes of the album. The beat had a nice chill feeling to it, Hodgy's lyrics were far better from the rest of the album, and Earl's verse is fucking amazing.

I feel like you need to listen to this album again. The lyrics were actually pretty deep and meaning full and I think Hodgy has a lot of potential.

sean ratliff yeah it's his solo debut album. Check it out it's called Fireplace. He definitely matured a lot.

A fair majority of odd futures music sucked to be real. Bastard was good, earl was good, doris was decentish? Then untill tylers cherrybomb and flower boy and earls i dont go outside, everything was pretty ass. Of tape 2 is okay also

That i will absolutely agree with. I was looking very much just in the scope of "what do i expect from Converge", but you pointing out on the broader scope, they definitely are putting stuff out there that is not imitated many other places, and theres still some really great stuff here. Are you seriously saying that it 'lacks lyrical content"...? You need to go back, listen to 65, and try again. You've given some seriously shitty reviews to some awesome albums and I think you need to leave hip-hop album reviews to the people that really listen to, appreciate, and understand good hip-hop and just originality in general.

I personally like the album. I'm guessing you have to like what you're hearing in order to enjoy it, in my case. I felt that way about Goblin, too. I like what I heard and didn't think too deeply about their other releases.

I was really excited for this album after seeing Hodgy perform a live clean version of 65 on an Odd Future BBC session (which was actually quite hilarious). After listening I was really disappointed at how unauthentic and rehearsed he sounds on the album version. After this and the new Domo Genesis album I'm really not enthusiastic about Odd Future anymore.

I loved the album! I agree with you about Grill and NFWGJDSH and Untitled L sounds pretty "trapp-ish". But I kinda liked the sound of Astro. A few of my favorite tracks on Numbers are: Break (definitely my favorite), La Bonita, GNC, and Monster. I love these 'OF member' reviews! Hodgy beats is definitely one of my favorite rappers. Earl, too.

Well it depends on your point of view about music for me is about consistency and creativity,this is why I liked Needledrop and the reason he is very respected among critics because he knows what he wants in music and points out the problems with really good opinion.And he also knows what makes each artist good.

It was always like that, besides Earl actually had his part and Tyler later made a bonus, plus you can buy it through Odd Future com. Frank likes solo and usually invites the crew if they want and they know it.

Review the new Tamaryn album, Tender new signs. You'll really enjoy ebb and flow to the LP. Plus the album cover is completely astonishing, you'd really find enjoyment in the LP, Anthony. You should review it!They've worked with the Dum Dum girls and The Raveonettes.
