In this video I will provide various melodic contour examples and the melodic contour definition. We will look at songs with a flat melodic contour (this is a melodic contour Taylor Swift is widely known for) in a section and a descending melodic contour in another section. Well also examine a song with a varied melodic contour in verses and then an ascending melodic contour in the pre-chorus. Describing melodic contour can be somewhat tricky without examples, so in this video I provide examples of both melodic contour and range variation from four different songs all by different songwriters. Yes! People often assume that guitar riffs or chord changes need to be really complicated or change all the time, and it's just not true

When it comes to hip-hop/rap, how does musical contrast (ascending/descending contour)? And does Music Contour pertain more to the performer/someone recording in booth? Or Does it also pertain to someone playing a instrument/someone producing: a beat?
