This was one of the songs that were played at my husband's "celebration of life". He died of a major heart attack at the age of 46. He didn't want a funeral but a party, so we played our 80s music and had a potluck. His friends came to the podium and told a memorable story of when they were teens. And yes he is of Norse descent.

When I lost everything my friends abandoned me, all of them, it was the very same night I came across this song, I realised that they weren’t important and that I have an ancient family out there somewhere, that knowledge made me happy, so for those of you that have nobody, know that I am your brother and I will stand beside you in Valhalla...

Andrew Patterson they abandoned me, I would have been the first to stand in front of them in the face of danger, I consider myself loyal and trustworthy and yet one by one they backed away and just disappeared from my life, no goodbyes just silence, it was after I revealed that I follow a pagan path, I respect their Christian path and would never try to sway them, I would have thought that the same level of respect would be repaid but instead I was labelled a devil worshiper, at the time I thought it was in jest but, well. it is true that it weighs on my heart but I’m sure in time that I will once again be surrounded by friends, maybe this time they will also be loyal and true.

I am from India and from a completely different culture but this music fills my soul brothers. It is awesome. In these days of no honor, no loyality and cowardice this norse culture of olden days is so awesome. You live and die for something. Gives meaning to life. I cannot understand any words but i translate them to english and learn. Everything about scandinavia is so beautiful. It inspires to carry on with life no matter what happens. I listen to Danheim, Helvegen very frequently... keeps me brave. If these groups ever come to India, i will definitely attend the concert.

There I meet my father, there I meet my mother, my sisters and brothers, my line of ancestors from the beginning. They are already calling for me, they are asking me to take my place between them, behind the gates of Valhalla, where all brave men live forever. Dort treffe ich meinen Vater, dort treffe ich meine Mutter, meine Schwestern und Brüder, meine Ahnenreihe von Beginn an. I am from Nordic, Pictish, and Scottish descent. We were all brothers; we were all sisters. We once were one family and had to defend our lands and heritage. My name is Sabrina and I love my heritage of all the people of my European descent, and I sing these songs all the time in prayer. I honor my ancestors and our people here now today. I find comfort in my lineage. It's all I have left from living in this world, but I know my people and my lineage, and I am so grateful that I am led beyond to follow them because we are all warriors. Thank you so much.

Seit damals und heute hat sich nichts geändert. Todt und Teufel alla A. Dürer. ( Ukraine ) Wacht doch endlich auf !!! Seit Anfängen der Menschheit, Krieg immer wieder Krieg. Lyrics :) Who shall sing me into the death-sleep sling me When I walk on the Path of Death and the tracks I tread are cold, so cold I sought the songs I sent the songs when the deepest well gave me the drops so touched of Death-fathers wager I know it all, Odin where you hid your eye Who shall sing me into the death-sleep sling me When I walk on the Path of Death and the tracks I tread are cold, so cold early in the days end still the raven knows if I fall When you stand by the Gate of Death And you have to tear free I shall follow you across the Resounding Bridge with my song You will be free from the bonds that bind you! You are free from the bonds that bound you! Cattle die, kinsmen die You yourself will also die but the word about you will never die if you win a good reputation Cattle die, kinsmen die You yourself will also die I know one that never dies the reputation of those who died

The Vikings that are part of the Irish heritage, I salute you as an Irishman who has seen Wood Quay in Dublin. but like all the others recorded in The Book of Invasions, you lost at the Battle of Clontarf, but not before you slew the High King Brian Boru. Your artifacts and engineering remain. Ireland would not be the same without you. You are part of us. What a sight the Vikings meeting equally fierce and unafraid of death, as our Celtic warriors were must have been. As human beings we must ask ourselves what we fight for. Lovely music.
