Please try making sodium metal by performing electrolysis on liquid salt forming chlorine gas and sodium metal, and if you where careful be a cool experiment that would leave you with some sodium, another cool material! Like if you agree!

Pure sodium (Na) is naturally reactive with water, so that would make sense; table salt is also known as sodium chloride, or NaCl, and in a molten state the thermal energy would make the sodium react instantaneously with water, with explosive results as the reaction produces hydrogen gas, which would ignite from the heat alone.

In pottery and ceramics there is a method called "salt glazing". I dont know the chemistry behind it, but essentially salt is dropped into a kiln so quickly that it vaporizes/melts and fuses with the clay to form a clear glass like textured glaze on the pottery.

It rejected it because it turns to water which reacts with the sodium separated from the other things in the salt because of the melting. That sodium is a rare earth rare earths react with water and explode upon contact. GO BOOM!!!!!!

Joseph NO. Sodium isnt rare earth, its alkali metal. if the sodium did got separated from the chlorine than at such temperature it might react again with the chlorine, equilibrium reaction. If it doesnt react it will burn by itself, producing sodium oxide

Initially, I thought that the ice-cube ejected like that because of the steam that is formed very quickly once the ice-cube is dipped into the molten salt. But, as we may notice, it appears the ice-cube didn't even get to melt. I presume something so hot wouldn't get more than a few seconds to melt the ice-cube completely. Which brings me to consider your point. Tks, bro.

Ok well I do now that the laden frost effect doesn’t usually cause a loud bang and flash of bright light so it must be an actual exsplosion

Paxton West it foams up, volcanic gases within obsidian expand into a molten foam. Which over time will collapse into a molten liquid.

You can melt rock if you can find an old flat screen tv. One of the big thick ones. The TV isn't flat but the screen is. I think it's a projection tv. The screen on those act like a Gian magnifying glass that can melt rock. I always take those screens when I see one of those tvs on the side of the road.
