Melvin vs Marriott Family Feud: Nova Scotia's NOTORIOUS “Spryfield Wars”

Hood Chronicles

3 жыл бұрын

The Melvin and Marriott Crime families in Nova Scotia, Spryfield, near Halifax, have been going through a multi generational feud. With them starting off as separate families, becoming allies, and eventually turning against each other, this story is definitely a crazy piece of Canadian history!
We also took a look at Jimmy Melvin Jr., his dad Jimmy Melvin Sr., Corey Melvin, Terry Marriott Jr., his dad Terry Marriott Sr., B.J Marriott, as well as many other people!

Jimmy Melvin Jr. did not present a fake I.D., he was wearing a full HRPD uniform, running around with the cops, looking for himself, for over 8 hours before an officer realized they didn't know this officer. They have seriously downplayed that story since then.

Those aren't and weren't really a thing, just dumb kids who thought they were gangster. Who wants to hear about that? I guess we toss in Gaston road Gangstas, Woodside Posse/Woodside Crew/Woodside Gangstas, Eastern Passage Crew, Spryfield Crew/Spryfield Gangstas, South end Gangstas, Cole Harbour Clic, Maplehurst Crew, and all of the other kid groups around who thought listening to rap made you gangster when rappers aren't even gangster, then we've got somewhat of a comedy starring all of the cities bullies, which is all they ever really were, and nobody really liked them. Hell, I had a girlfriend when I was young who would probably still swear she was in a real gang, when she was under 17 years old at the time.

And they're not privileged, the rich are privileged, the middle class are non existent as over 80% are struggling with debt, bills, rent, or some other monetary problem while the top 1%, the rich elite hold 80% of the worlds wealth while we're all the ones doing the work for them to get that, they're just sitting on their fat asses and we are a joke to them.

And everything in my first comment is public record, not a rumor.
@darrylkinslow5613
@darrylkinslow5613 3 жыл бұрын
@@frankdrizzo4980 You might think so, but many of the stories about them like other things, were exaggerated, and still are. Like Spryfield, just the stories alone scared people away from many neighborhoods. People would say things like "don't go there, you'll end up shot/stabbed/robbed" and many other things. Sure, those things happened but not to the scale that the stories had people believing.I've met both younger and older Melvins and Marriots from the area who live around and work at a lot of the same places, the majority of them didn't have anything to do with the drugs or the feud. Just like many so called gangs, it's really just a few and their friends which is why it's pretty much all quiet up there today. The truth is, without naming names, back then somebody got arrested, somebody else got called a rat, somebody else got shot, more people got arrested, somebody else got called a rat, somebody else got arrested, somebody else got shot, a business got firebombed, and a bunch got arrested, leaving only the older of the younger Marriots and Melvins being thugs and doing their thing, after that stories faded out since nothing much happened out there anymore. I might have missed a few details, but that's about the gist of it. Today, there's developers out there fixing up everything. 500 block is all renovated with new security doors and new owners.

The Marriott name won't ever be the same... even for the families not even related to them at all are given a bad name like " The Marriott Wannabe's ". Which is why I don't ever socially use that name in Halifax. Hell I'm not even from here and fights are picked on me because of that name. Apartments are rejected to my family at times. And as for the surviving battle members... the last thing if I were them is to get my attention...

One branch of the family built a hotel empire. Another one built a drug cartel. Only one of them was sustainable in the long run.
