It can't be denied how much of a taboo it was to be a member of the LGBTQ+ community back then, nor to even just talk about that certain topic. Our brothers and sisters who belong there were always bullied, ridiculed, or put to shame. They were afraid to not be accepted by their own families or friends. Owing to that, most of them chose to stay in their closets, hide their true identities, and live each day knowing that they've been constantly lying to themselves. When Vice entered the mainstream media, especially when she arose to fame because of Showtime, she chose to just be unapologetically herself ---- openly gay, proud crossdresser who had various hairstyles with vivid colors, and had a tongue as sharp as her brilliant mind. As human as she was, she was not perfect and had her fair share of mistakes (turned lessons that made her into the woman she is today). She hurt or offended several people with her words, albeit sometimes indirectly or jokingly. People were merely not used to her humor and took it way too seriously. The important thing is, she made sure to apologize and own up to her mistakes, and now she has totally become a much better person. Public figures especially Vice and Boy Abunda, were always confident in themselves which empowered so many people, especially those within the LGBTQ+community. They finally felt represented. They finally realized that they belong in the society, that they're not outcasts, that they are normal people who deserve to be treated with the same amount of love and respect. So many people have looked up to them because of their wit/intelligence, big heart, and immense talents. Being openly gay, it enabled sooo many gay people to finally go out of their shells and be the unicorns that they've always wanted to be ----- gliding over the rainbows and radiating sunshine all over the world. You are all such beautiful, smart, talented people with the biggest hearts who only wish nothing but for goodness' sake. Vice, THANK YOU VERY MUCH. You have inspired millions of people, not just the ones belonging to the LGBTQ community. I'm a woman and my respect, love, and admiration for you goes higher each day because as time goes by, you keep proving to people how genuine your intentions are. You have such a pure soul. You have been authentic since day 1. Now, in 2023, people have learned to become more open-minded. Almost everyone has finally learned to embrace our brothers and sisters in the LGBTQ community, and you indeed, have been very instrumental for that. You ignited the fire within them. You were a drop of water in a still pond that created ripple effects. You never ceased to encourage or motivate people like you, to release their inhibitions and unleash the butterfly within them. Moreover, you were never ashamed of your humble beginnings and used them as tools instead to inspire people that they will achieve their goals/dreams as long as they never give up on them. You were always proud of where you came from. You may have been the one who always made people laugh, but deep inside, I know that you had so much weight to carry yet you never let them hinder you from making people happy. You also had your own problems that not a lot of people know. Now that you have Ion in your life, it makes us all genuinely happy because you deserve to be given even much more than the amount of love and happiness that you always give to people, especially the ones around you.
