Sudan and Ethiopia are to the east of Greece Homer lived in Asia Minor, which was still Greek controlled at the time. At this time the Kushites king piye conquered Egypt and parts of Libya. Well you are Wrong. First of all Ethiopia didn't exist as a country back then like we know it now. The word is Aethiopis. Aethiopis is a Hellenic word used by Hellens only, to describe the people living South of Egypt because of there black skin complexion. It is not a country. Aethiopis means Burnt Face. The people living there didn't call themselves Aethiopians. Secondly Memnon is not described being an Aethiopis black or African hero. No one describes Memnon being Aethiopis.
